WEEK FIVE: MINGLE

WEEK FIVE: MINGLE (29 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Alyssa, Hikaru, and Bucky's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. On that note, if your character did not stay, please make sure to check your notifs. Once again, participants may find that they have difficulty recalling complete details of the past weeks. Finally, participants will find that they now have another pet to take care of. Small creatures (based on any animal of player choice, real or mythical) will be following them around all week. However, these creatures are emotionally tied to their participant, so whatever the person they are connected to is feeling, they will outwardly display it. Angry? They will be hostile. Happy? So are they! Even more, they will react to other participants based on how theirs feels about the other. Anyone their participant loves, they will also love. Hope you don't secretly hate anyone, that might be awkward.

Yeah. All of the Dream Eaters look like that. [he has no idea if he's ever told clementine about dream eaters but here they are. he's looking at the hedgehog with a grin though.] I'm surprised yours is staying up there.

I think he likes to be tall.

What's a Dream Eater? Is it as obvious as it sounds? [ a monster that? eats dreams? but it's friendly? ]

He and I have that in common. [dryly. but there's a nod.] It's exactly what it sounds like. We worked with them when we were taking our Mark of Mastery exam and going through the sleeping worlds plagued with Nightmares.

Heh.

Well, I like them. [ as long as she doesn't have to deal with any that get too dog-adjacent. she will offer the necho cat some scritches. ]

I do, too. They're really good friends of mine. [lucky for clem the only dog-esque one is. meow wow. who is something. the cat immediately butts up into her hand though and meows happily, its dumb little tail brushing around her fingers and wrist.] No idea what they're doing here, but...oh well.

[ kitty... clem hasn't been this close to living animals in a long time let alone affectionate ones... ]

Maybe they're just here to cheer you on?

[sora isn't really paying attention to what the cat's doing and the cat's very happy to continue nuzzling at her hand.]

Maybe. Most people's have stayed the same, but it feels like sometimes I'll turn around and mine's something completely new. You'll probably meet a few more later.

[ she's just going to keep idly petting it forever, it's fine ]

Some of them can shapeshift. Mine hasn't, but I saw someone else's do it.

[if she's sitting on the ground at some point the cat is going to crawl into her lap and curl up. congratulations on your new pet i guess.]

Maybe yours will later? Or maybe it just means you're really consistent. I don't think that's a bad thing.

I'm fine with it if he doesn't. He's not even as prickly as you'd expect.

Neither are you, so that makes sense. [unfortunately this is a compliment.]

Oh, so now it's just a choice? I see how it is. [he does not find her even remotely prickly at this point, but he also has a high tolerance for this sort of thing.]

[ she doesn't actually reply to that but she's scooping up her hedgehog and holding it out for him to take. it only seems fair. she has his ??cat?? ]

[oh. okay. he will take this hedgehog and hold it carefully in both hands so it doesn't get dropped or anything.]

...you're right. He's kinda soft. [it could be because they're not really real, but still.]

Don't know how long he'll last, but I like having him around for now.

[ the hedgehog will uncurl in sora's hands, sniff around... and then just settle down. ]

These might be what we have for the week. It's just a way nicer option than most things. [this hedgehog is precious and he will die to protect it.]

I do like them more than ghosts and dinosaurs.

Yeah...I like Littlefoot just fine, but this isn't bad at all. I don't really get what it means is all.

[it's been a whole day and he has not figured out the animals are mood rings. it's fine.]

They just wanted us to have... Unique pets, I guess?

Maybe. Pets do make people happy. Maybe the Realm felt like giving us a break.

It has to win me over with a little more than a cute hedgehog and a very snuggly kitty.

It's only Monday and we're in a fairytale castle. Who knows? Maybe all your dreams will come true sooner than later.
