WEEK FIVE: MINGLE

WEEK FIVE: MINGLE (29 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Alyssa, Hikaru, and Bucky's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. On that note, if your character did not stay, please make sure to check your notifs. Once again, participants may find that they have difficulty recalling complete details of the past weeks. Finally, participants will find that they now have another pet to take care of. Small creatures (based on any animal of player choice, real or mythical) will be following them around all week. However, these creatures are emotionally tied to their participant, so whatever the person they are connected to is feeling, they will outwardly display it. Angry? They will be hostile. Happy? So are they! Even more, they will react to other participants based on how theirs feels about the other. Anyone their participant loves, they will also love. Hope you don't secretly hate anyone, that might be awkward.

Well, so are centaurs. Chiron can book it down a road at 60mph so if you see just a flash of something out of the corner of your eye, leaving behind a whirlwind as he runs along ... sorry.

Though he'll eventually stop running and then sit down, chest heaving a little, as he waits for his deer to catch up with him. She's mad as heck and will thoroughly headbutt at his side until he pats her in compensation]

Forgive me. I thought you wanted me to go faster.

... That's not exactly how he's viewing it, of course. Every five seconds he looks down and is bemused by what he sees (horse???), so the deer is taking matter into her own hooves by leaping, trotting, and doing every manner of movement a creature with four legs can.

Chiron plays along... and leaps, trots, and rolls around like he's a colt until accidentally banging his head into the side of a tree because this horse (horse!!!) thing is hard]

I would have prefer just having two legs at this point. Less to coordinate...

[Chiron is in the bookstore with a book opened in front of him. And he is staring quietly at it, mouth pulled tightly into one of pained amusement.

[his deer also comes by, standing by Alex's side like she's also inspecting Chiron]

[ thank you tol horse. she's being thorough, brushing aside his hair to make sure he's not sporting a big ol' lump under there as well. ]

[ the deer will get some attention in a moment, she just needs to make sure the bigger quadruped is doing okay. ]

Nothing. Forgive me, I did not hear what you said... my thoughts have been somewhat scattered.

[Placing a hand to his head, thoughtful]

My run-in with the tree was worse than I expected.

The miniature wild horse standing beside her also manages to convey amusement. ]

[at least someone is having a good time. The deer comes running up too and then decides to stand near Dorothy in sullen defiance until Chiron trots up to the three of them]

Come now, do not sulk. I did not mean to leave you behind.

[deer: B/ ... goes to hide behind Dorothy]

I think an apology is in order.

[ with a faint smile as she glances over her shoulder at the deer. ]

I fear even an apology will not fix this.

[So he says, even as he's still smiling and holding out a hand. It takes a couple of seconds, but eventually the deer will give them a sniff and a nibble]

Ah, there we are. Apparently I am forgiven now.

What a benevolent creature you are. [ To the deer. ]

I can't say I'm not envious, though. Running like that seems pleasant.

[ Alas, she is human and her leg is dumb. ]

Ah. Yes, I admit it was far more pleasant than I had imagined.

Of course, I had not realized I could reach that speed, but I will know for next time.

Even if Chiron's expression so much as flinch as the other carries on. If anything, he seems more tired.

... And doesn't seem to register when the story ends until Rufus's mouth stops moving.]

-- Ah, is it finished?

[He did notice the divided attention; however, without instruction to stop, he carried on and here they are now.]

Should I read more?
