WEEK FIVE: MINGLE

WEEK FIVE: MINGLE (29 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Alyssa, Hikaru, and Bucky's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. On that note, if your character did not stay, please make sure to check your notifs. Once again, participants may find that they have difficulty recalling complete details of the past weeks. Finally, participants will find that they now have another pet to take care of. Small creatures (based on any animal of player choice, real or mythical) will be following them around all week. However, these creatures are emotionally tied to their participant, so whatever the person they are connected to is feeling, they will outwardly display it. Angry? They will be hostile. Happy? So are they! Even more, they will react to other participants based on how theirs feels about the other. Anyone their participant loves, they will also love. Hope you don't secretly hate anyone, that might be awkward.

[ the weasel sniffs her hand and then, if she allows it, nyooms across her arm to lick her face. ]

Yeah? [ hm. ] Does, uh - does having someone with you make it easier?

[Ange can't help but giggle at the nyooming weasel, because it's really, really cute??

So cute and affectionate!!

The bird flutters a bit and then just coos and flutters over to chill on Lup's shoulder. Cute animal companion exchange...!]

... If it is you, Miss Ruby, then... yes, I think that would help a great deal. Would you be willing to explore the castle with me?

[evocationary]

[ lup grins a little at the bird, reaching up to gently stroke its head. ]

For sure, cutiepie. I've only been in once just to see like, what we were dealing with. Let's do a better exploration.

[lecarre]

[The turtledove chirps contentedly at Lup's affection.]

All right then...!

[Ange takes a deep breath, looking up at the castle once more and gently lifting a hand to scritch the weasel behind the ears--and then she nods with Maximum Determination.]

Please, lead the way. I am ready to go inside.

[evocationary]

[ hmmm. there's a pause of consideration, and then she reaches out and offers her hand! ange is welcome to take it as they make their way around. ]

So you don't like big shows of wealth, then? Is that what it is?

[lecarre]

[Ange fiddles with the hem of her tunic with her free hand, brow furrowed.

The castle is beautiful, but Ange's eyes seem to flick from place to place without taking much joy from it. Her bird, too, makes disgruntled noises as it fluffs up on Lup's shoulder.]

... It's, um...

[...She sighs a little.]

There are castles back home as well. For me, and people like me... they just represent walls.

[evocationary]

Walls... [ she repeats, reaching up to pet the bird gently. ]

Like you're blocked off from living well sort of walls? [ she's curious. and her weasel is insistent on licking ange's face. ]

[lecarre]

[The bird coos a gentle noise and leans into those pets. Ange tickles the weasel's chin while she allows it to lick her face, a small smile on her face despite her melancholic expression.]

Walls... between those who have and those who have not. Only some people can go into castles. Those people... are very different from the rest of us, who can remain only on the streets.

[evocationary]

Is there something special about them, or is this just, like. Capitalism.

[ the weasel squeaks happily. lup frowns. ] Am I going to have to come like, topple capitalism in your world? I will, don't think I won't.

[lecarre]

[just capitalism.

Ange just giggles softly at that, but it's a little melancholic.]

Is it truly that easy...?

[evocationary]

Sure is! Just uh, one well placed rumor and I can take down a whole kingdom, don't you doubt it.

[lecarre]

... When you say it, I find I do not doubt it at all.

And in truth... I would really like to see you do so. [She is not a fan of capitalism.]

Perhaps then, the world would change for the better.
