WEEK FIVE: MINGLE

WEEK FIVE: MINGLE (29 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Alyssa, Hikaru, and Bucky's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. On that note, if your character did not stay, please make sure to check your notifs. Once again, participants may find that they have difficulty recalling complete details of the past weeks. Finally, participants will find that they now have another pet to take care of. Small creatures (based on any animal of player choice, real or mythical) will be following them around all week. However, these creatures are emotionally tied to their participant, so whatever the person they are connected to is feeling, they will outwardly display it. Angry? They will be hostile. Happy? So are they! Even more, they will react to other participants based on how theirs feels about the other. Anyone their participant loves, they will also love. Hope you don't secretly hate anyone, that might be awkward.

[Blanca is a master at this. Ange just holds up the eggs for him to take them, beaming.]

That sounds wonderful too! We can have tea... and perhaps the salmon and cucumber idea that Mister Blanca suggested before. As for meat... perhaps some sort of beef...?

[She is not well-versed in fancy appetizers.]

[Look at Zuko, not wanting to be left out. With a small smile, Blanca lets him help put the eggs in. They get done faster, so it's a plus.

Now they can go back to the kitchen and work on the appetizers.]

All right. They should be fine for now. I'll send one of you back in a bit to check on them.

[The dog gives a little huff of a bark, tail wagging.]

So, fish and tea for Zuko, and beef for Miss Ange. I think we can work with that. What kind of tea do the two of you like?

[ man this is making him especially moody (sorry ange and blanca), for some reason, so he just stares into the water. ]

[ whooo iiiis that zuko i seeeeeee staring straight baaaack at meeeeee ]

You two go ahead. I'll stay here until they're ready.

Ange looks puzzled, admittedly, because she can't keep up with Zuko's angsty mood swings. It's fine though.]

Um... I like nearly all tea, so I think jasmine sounds wonderful.

Jasmine then.

[Hmmm. He exchanges a perplexed glance with Ange.]

I'd rather prefer if you came back with us, Zuko. I could really use your help. Miss Ange will have to read things out for me.

They should be okay. I'll send you back in a bit to check on them for us, all right?

[cuedoves]

[ no listen zuko has to stay so all the hatching birds can think he's their mom and follow him everywhere i promise this will end in comedy ]

It shouldn't take too long. Just go ahead, I'll join you later.

[lecarre]

[Listen... Ange is still puzzled, but she will give Zuko his angsty moment.]

Mister Blanca, let us get started on the other things we'll need to make until he joins us again.

He also still wishes Zuko would stop sulking and come with them, but it's fine. He's use to letting teenagers brood.]

Okay. Well, Miss Ange. It looks like it's you and me.

[He offers her his elbow so he can lead them back to the kitchen.

Only to find out the oven is still being hogged.]

[ i'm gonna give you guys only one tag of zuko manpaining (????) in the spa bc im a nice person ]

Anyway, Ange... looks a bit at a loss since the oven is still being hogged.]

Where do we even begin...?

[He offers Ange a reassuring smile.]

Let's work on the salmon and cucumbers, so Zuko can taste-test it when he gets back. We'll surprise him.

[And he will surprise them with wild ass baby birds.]

If you'll dig out some cucumbers and wash them, I'll cut them. [Are there any fucking knives in the kitchen anymore? I'm saying there's at least one shoved at the back somewhere, we already have enough to worry about.] Let me see if there's any salmon.

[cuedoves]

[ yeah.. i kind of don't even want to interrupt this cute af shenanigans? but zuko will come rushing back after hatching, holding all the unhatched eggs and with a bunch of baby chicks following him and chirping!!! the turtleduck quacks, too. ]

-- We have a problem!

[lecarre]

[Wise move, not letting her chop. Anyway, she pulls out the cucumbers and starts to wash them.]

Right! I am very excited to see the look on his face when he tastes--

[ANYWAY.

that's when Zuko slams in with a bunch of baby chicks.

Ange stares, and then gasps and points.]

Zuko, there are birds following you...! [yes ange he knows]

[papasha]

[He only bugs Ange once so he can wash his hands before he starts fiddling with the little slab of salmon he's managed to dig out.

He's being a bit of an unnecessary ham, but he bops the end of the knife to send it a little into the air just about the time Zuko panics through the door. Hm?

He somehow managed to catch the knife perfectly even with being startled.]

I beg your par--oh. [He can't help it. He laughs!] Zuko, you didn't tell us you were expecting.

[cuedoves]

I'm not! They just... they all just starting doing this suddenly!

[ they are chirping at him. feed them, mama!! he looks helplessly between the two of them and the chicks.. ]

[lecarre]

[omg.

Ange giggles.]

They do truly love you a lot, Zuko! You must take care of them.

[papasha]

[He has to sort of cover his mouth with his fist to keep from laughing again.]

They hatched from the water...? Bizarre... but ah well. You're just going to have to bring your little brood in, Zuko.

[cuedoves]

[ he's too flustered to be angry.. yet. ]

I didn't do anything! They just... started following me! I don't even know how they hatched?!

[lecarre]

[Ange just tilts her head.]

Perhaps it is magic... or perhaps Zuko is just especially skilled at hatching chicks...!
