WEEK FIVE: MINGLE

WEEK FIVE: MINGLE (29 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Alyssa, Hikaru, and Bucky's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. On that note, if your character did not stay, please make sure to check your notifs. Once again, participants may find that they have difficulty recalling complete details of the past weeks. Finally, participants will find that they now have another pet to take care of. Small creatures (based on any animal of player choice, real or mythical) will be following them around all week. However, these creatures are emotionally tied to their participant, so whatever the person they are connected to is feeling, they will outwardly display it. Angry? They will be hostile. Happy? So are they! Even more, they will react to other participants based on how theirs feels about the other. Anyone their participant loves, they will also love. Hope you don't secretly hate anyone, that might be awkward.

She has the right of it. Whether the taste is pleasing is still more important, but maintaining an aesthetic balance is always a necessity.

Maybe we should try to arrange some of them on the same dish? It really doesn't look like there's going to be enough room for all the plates...

[she lowers her voice to a conspiratorial whisper a moment later though.]

Or we can eat the things that look best to us to make space. I won't tell if you don't.

Then I suppose you will be learning quickly.

[mob gets a little nod, at that.

and as for yona's suggestion... hm. he considers, with a slight frown.]

'Twould be against the spirit of such gatherings, I should think. If they will not fit, sacrifices may need to be made-- though I would encourage you to make one of your own and not choose what you think to be most desirable.

[Wow. Really? She would have invited him! Wow!! Looking back and forth at them like they're experts.]

[Pointing to cupcakes.]

[against the spirit... maybe, but if yona's going to eat something, it should at least be tasty! she nods a little in agreement with emet, but then glances over at the cupcakes.]

Eating those should definitely clear up some space.

... well, if you are certain you can handle them all. I will find something to replace the cloth.

[the cupcakes are all theirs! also now i want cupcakes...]

[Taking a cupcake and handing one to Yona. We're just going to eat cupcakes while Emet does the work.]

[honestly? yeah. yeah we are.]

Hmm... [she bites into it... oh, it's sweet. nice. after chewing and swallowing (because she has manners and won't talk with her mouth full), she examines the plate.] It looks like there should be eight for each of us. I think we can do it.

[THAT'S SO MANY CUPCAKES, YONA.

emet does not hear this because he's wandering off to go get a replacement tablecloth, but good luck eating all of those while he's out.]

[Yeah. Mob is able to eat like. One and a half cupcakes. So enjoy eating fifteen, Yona.]

[SHE CAN'T EAT THAT MANY SHE'LL GET SICK


but she'll damn well try so, like, catch her deadeyeing the plate of cupcakes as she's finishing off her fourth one.]

...this is easier said than done...

[emet-selch eventually returns with some fabric that looks like it may, at one point in its life, have been a curtain. it's a tablecloth now!

as he lays it out on the table, he just gives yona a sidelong look.]

This is why I warned you to choose carefully.

[You aren't our dad, Emet-Selch! But Mob is still like nibbling on his first cupcake.]

Mm. . . it's hard. . .

[don't look at her like that... she's not the one that picked the cupcakes...]

...well... maybe we've gotten rid of enough of them that we can arrange them on one of the plates with another dessert...?

[they both went with this, he'll dad voice if he wants!]

That may be so. Split them across more than one, if needed-- they might be used as decoration on other plates.

[exercisms]

[Nodding. He helped! While Yona ate like eight. But starting to split them across plates just. Randomly. Here's a cupcake on a plate of chips and dip! He's a cupcake on the charcuterie tray!]

[chips and charcuterie aren't desserts but she also doesn't really want to rain on mob's parade...

she'll just very artfully arrange some of the cupcakes as part of a fruit plate.]

well, he doesn't feel like enough of an asshole to call mob out, so between arranging plates he just. tries to move some of those to dessert plates when mob isn't looking.]

[Putting some cupcakes in an unsteady jenga arrangement on a paper plate next to the crudites.]

yona "accidentally" nudges the table to knock the cupcakes down, catches them, and sets them on some of the dessert plates as well.]

Ah- do be careful of where you place those.

[he will say something about jenga cupcakes, ok.

emet-selch carefully arranges a couple more plates, then reaches out to grab one that seems to just fall out of nowhere? thanks, he hates this table.]

Oops, sorry.

[He's not doing a bad job on purpose, he's just useless. Going back to grab more cupcakes and knocking the entire plate to the floor.]

yona eyes the table and makes a face.]

...can't they just give us a second table or something?

[she's kneeling down to clean up the cupcakes from the floor though.]
