WEEK FIVE: MINGLE

WEEK FIVE: MINGLE (29 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Alyssa, Hikaru, and Bucky's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. On that note, if your character did not stay, please make sure to check your notifs. Once again, participants may find that they have difficulty recalling complete details of the past weeks. Finally, participants will find that they now have another pet to take care of. Small creatures (based on any animal of player choice, real or mythical) will be following them around all week. However, these creatures are emotionally tied to their participant, so whatever the person they are connected to is feeling, they will outwardly display it. Angry? They will be hostile. Happy? So are they! Even more, they will react to other participants based on how theirs feels about the other. Anyone their participant loves, they will also love. Hope you don't secretly hate anyone, that might be awkward.

[ that's a weird cat. luckily, Fiora has learned not to question his abundance of weird cats - although it does get a perlexed look out of her for a moment. ]

Just designing invitations? That's easy - even if we don't know what they're for.

Hmm... Maybe something classy? Usually, you only get handmade invitations like this for fancy parties, right?

I think so! I've never been to one, but I've heard about them and there's all these...really long instructions about how to write the calligraphy. [he's holding the PHS really closely to his face, like a grandpa]

But that's okay, we have lots of ink, and there's only a few dozen of us here.

[he carries all the supplies over to a table in the corner and gently sets them down, the cat peering curiously at the spread and making quiet noises]

Should we maybe start with ourselves? That way if we mess it up it's okay?

[ hmmm... goes to grab a pen. ]

That sounds like a good idea. I'll do one for you, then. Let me see those instructions?

[ she hasn't done calligraphy... ]

Here you go! [he passes over his PHS with the instructions up, let's say that along with general instructions it also has like step-by-step letter guides] And I'll do one for you!

[he daintily holds the fountain pen in his massive gauntlet, and with a surprisingly practiced motion dips it and starts to carefully write, speaking aloud as he does]

"You are...cordially....invited..."

Oh! Fiora do you have a last name? Or a full name of some kind?

[ she peers at the instructions and feels significantly less confident after reading them than before. This is complicated. Fiora's not really known for being great with delicate little things like this... Unlike Alphonse, apparently. ]

Woah. You're actually good at that. [ sounding both surprised and impressed. ] Er - I don't have one, no. We don't really do that where I'm from. Not unless you're royalty.

[ time for her to start writing! she's going pretty slow, trying to get this lettering right... ]

Oh, thanks! [the compliment is just starting to make him feel nice and confident when the ink starts to run all down the page, making his nice crsip letters look all melty like a Goosebumps cover]

Huh?? It's running, but the table's flat and I don't think I used too much ink...

[he tries to go slower, really focusing on light strokes and the angle of his nib]

"to...join us for..."

...what do you think these invitations are for, Fiora?

[ meanwhile, Fiora has almost finished her second word. She's got "you are" now. It's like that episode of Spongebob, because it looks pretty good. ]

Maybe it's... watery ink? [ translation: i don't know anything about any of this. ] Um... Frankly, I haven't the foggiest. We're at a big castle, so... maybe a coronation, or something?

As long as it's not anything bad like all the other surprises here.

[he keeps re-dipping and adjusting the pen, but the wateriness of the ink doesn't seem to change so he just kinda sighs and keeps going]
