WEEK FIVE: INVESTIGATION (?? remain) On Friday morning at 7am, all the doors will unlock and the participants may traverse between areas again. Participants will find that, as they leave wherever they slept, everything feels... unclear? Did they see whoever they were with? They can no longer remember. Even for those who spent the night alone, they can feel that something is off. It doesn't seem as though the Leaders are around, but at this point, everyone should realize what has happened. Time to investigate. ༶•┈┈⛧┈｡o°✥✣ 　　 ✣✥°o｡┈⛧┈┈•༶ Welcome to your sixth investigation! We will be posting top-levels for searchable locations—one set at 6pm EST and another set at 7pm EST. Each location will contain evidence to find, though it's up to your efforts as to whether you find all of it. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters. We will stop tagging each top-level two hours after it went up, i.e. at 8pm and 9pm EST, respectively. Don't worry if you don't find everything! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9pm EST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s). [ clementine got stabbed yesterday, but it's fine?! she's just moving a little slowly... leaning on stuff... nearly fainting... don't worry about it.

is there anything outside of the blacksmith? anything visibly out of place before heading inside? ]

[ clementine this does not seem okay... but hilda is out investigating as well. she's covered in soot, which is also fine. ]

[ if clem's checking out the exterior of the building, she'll head over to open the door. ]

[ Clementine will note that the windows to the blacksmith are completely broken, glass shattered and everything, and that there's a singular white shoe on the ground...?

As for Hilda, the inside of the blacksmith is a fuckin mess. It looks like a tornado went through here with broken items, swords and shields thrown apart, rubble all over the ground and glass as well. Whatever furniture was in here is broken into pieces and just. All over the place.

[ is the glass on the inside or outside? like, were the windows broken inwards or out? any blood or sign of what broken them...?

she's also going to pick up the shoe and take a closer look at it. this will make feet checks easier at least?? ]

[ oh, well. she'll carefully step inside to observe the apparent wreckage. ]

[ she'll look around—is there anything still salvageable in the destruction that stands out? ]

[ The windows seem to have been broken from the inside? Blown out, almost. There's no blood or anything, though. Clem will also spot a few random ass swords planted on the ground outside at an odd angle? They're a bit far from the shop. The shoe is a white sneaker! It's a little beat up. There's nothing special about it otherwise.

Inside the wreckage, there's rubble... more rubble... a shoe-less leg sticking out from the fallen sword and shield display rubble... and like, some more rubble, so nothing much. ]

[ uhh. alright, some fuckin swords are here. do THEY have any blood on them? she'll leave them there for now after looking them over because she doesn't want to haul swords around.

she goes inside and. sees that leg. and decides to just leave that to hilda. no thank you. instead she's looking at the window from the inside - any like... signs of what broke it? an explosion? a bunch of swords? ]

[ thanks, clem. hilda drops to the rubble, alarmed—is there a lot of rubble? can she move it? she's going to try and move it, a sense of dread in the pit of her stomach. ]

[retellers]

[ There's a little blood on SOME of the swords, but like. Speckles. Not a whole lot. The windows look like they were completely blown out, so it's hard to tell what did it. There's not even any glass left on the windowsill.

There is a lot of rubble! She'll have to dig in to that pile. There's a sword sticking out the rubble as well... but probably more importantly she'll dig up what the sword is planted in.

Going by the sword sticking out of his chest, Mob is dead. ]

[ hm, bad. clem is going to come... over to where hilda is and just. ]

Fuck.

[ she's going to lean against hilda for support. physical support? emotional? b... both??? and look past her to see if maybe there's anything... further into the blacksmith that looks messed up? ]

[ oh, no.

she'll stay steady for clem, but her expression folds, her usually cheerful voice wavering after she drops the last of the rubble hiding him with a clatter. ]

Mob...?

[ anyway, give her a second. what's the... scene look like? how has he been stabbed? ]

[retellers]

[ There's a sword sticking out the middle of his chest keeping him pinned to the floor. She'll have to King Arthur this shit to move him. Are you girls strong enough for this? (Probably, it's Hilda.)

And. Well. Uh. There's still a lot of rubble and destruction around the blacksmith if Clem wants to like, look around that? ]

[ clem isn't uhhh big on pulling swords out of dead kids. plus she's pretty fucking weak, so...

yeah, good luck again hilda. she's going to go investigate rubble elsewhere. this is definitely not just because looking at mob is making her sad. ]

[ CLEM PLEASE

anyway yes hilda will be strong enough to do this, but she needs a moment before she goes and yanks any swords out of her friends. she'll take a small step back, taking a deep breath to try and steady herself as she looks around. how does the scene compare to what they'd seen last night? ]

[retellers]

[ Well, everything is a lot worse than what Hilda has seen last night, but nothing is inconsistent with what was happening. It just looks like whatever was happening continued a lot harder after everyone fell asleep. Except like, Mob is there with a sword in him.

Clem doesn't get to understand what the hell Hilda is comparing it to, so instead she can look through rubble. Everything is a mess. There's itty bitty widdle specks of blood here and there, but they seem more in line with very tiny cuts than other people also getting legit stabbed. ]

[ if she digs around in the rubble a bit will she find anything else... ]

[ is there anything else out of place around mob's body, or near it if she sweeps away more rubble?

also just in case, is he for sure dead. is he breathing. i can't stand how many times i've been faked out today ]

[ he has a sword through his chest, nu, of course mob isn't breathing. i bolded the text. Anyway, there's nothing out of place around Mob's body or near it if she removes the rubble!

Clem will find some broken swords and shields if she digs? What kind of monster would destroy a perfectly good weapon shop like this. "this is a blacksmith" a perfectly good ]

[ okay she's going to... hobble her way back outside to look at those swords because i can't stop thinking about it.

they're at an odd angle. what. what angle is that?? ]

[ i don't trust any of you, okay!! anyway, why does she have to do this? she's going to try and find a cloth or use her cravat thing to let out a sigh to try and pull the sword out now. like it or not, they're going to have to move his body. ]

[ Hilda successfully pulls out the sword from the sword and Mob's body! Yay Hilda.

The angle of the swords planted on the ground... is slanted. Almost like the swords were thrown out through the window hard enough to plant into the ground of the town?! ]

was probably what happened then. i don't know what else to check. uuhhh. i should have thought of these things in a better order but

the shoe is just mob's right. does it match the presumable shoe on the leg? ]

she's going to try and think about that later. but okay is there anything else in a blacksmith...y. a forge. a blacksmith office. is there a fire or a workbench or anything like that? does the sword that stabbed mob match the other swords that were on display? ]

[ It absolutely matches the shoe on his other leg. Did you know when you die your shoe flies off? This is a legitimate science fact.

The sword that stabbed Mob does match the others in the blacksmith ... office. There WAS a fire and workbench, but they've both been overtaken by rubble and so the fire was put out and the workbench is broke. This is a fuckin mess. ]
