WEEK SIX: MINGLE (25 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Elsa, Yona, Shigeo, and Fiora's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. Once again, participants may find that they have difficulty recalling complete details of the past weeks. Also, anyone who had been poisoned during trial will still be feeling sick! Haha! Finally, participants will find that they are now sporting a new injury. This injury is one that they received in their past, whether they remember it or not. No matter how fatal the injury is, participants won't die from it, and the pain they feel will be dulled down. However, if another participant touches someone's injury effect, even if it's covered, then they will both be hit with whatever pain that was felt when the injury was first inflicted. This pain will last ten seconds. The injury can also be as minor or major as desired.

I've always felt that way. Even when things are rough, I've done my best to cling onto those sorts of little happinesses - a warm bao bun from a street vendor, or a particularly nice day, a soft bed... a beautiful sunset. Even here, every person that I have met has given me a small memory or a moment to take back with me as something I will always treasure. Even I forget the person that I am completely, I will still always remember those things.

[ he touches his heart, briefly, looking out on the water. ]

Tell me about your friends. Riku, and Kairi, you said? What are they like?

[reconnective]

...I don't think I've really met anyone quite like you, Xie Lian. [and it's a compliment because he means he's never met anyone who feels quite the same way he does.] For every world that I've been to and every friend I've made, there's always a little piece of them with me, and I leave a little piece of myself behind for them. It keeps us connected and their memories mean more to me than most things.

[but hm...friends...] They're the best. I've known them both for practically my whole life. Riku's a little older than me and Kairi but he's really strong and really smart. Sometimes he's kind of a jerk but he's brave. I think...I always wanted to be like him when I was a kid. But I didn't tell him that because he'd let it go to his head. Even now he's the better of the two of us and I don't mind.

And Kairi's just as brave. She doesn't like waiting around for answers and usually takes things into her own hands. And she's really nice and she's a fast learner...she's the one who keeps the three of us together, sometimes.

Both of them are the things that've made me who I am right now and the people I want to see again more than anything. Everything I ever did was for them. [heh.] After everything happened and we were separated...we spend forever trying to find each other again. But I know we're never really apart either, even when I'm not with them right now.

[dianxias]

[ wow that's the first time he's ever heard that in a positive manner. he dips his head towards sora, a serene smile on his face. ]

That is kind of you to say - you are very special yourself, Sora.

[ it's so reassuring to hear him talk that way. and - it's really nice to hear him talk about his friends, too. xie lian nods along with every detail, reaching back for one of the funnel cakes to grabbed to eat earlier and snacking on it as he talks. ]

...That is a good outlook to have - both the big picture of what's coming, and the little picture of what will get you there. [ gosh he's so fond. ] They sound like wonderful people, and the three of you sound like quite the trio. I am sure they will be thrilled when you return.

What kind of things have you done together? Besides watch sunsets.

[reconnective]

[this is the part where usually he denies that or he laughs awkwardly or he volleys a compliment right back because he's not sure what to say, but with xie lian he finds it to be a little more assuring. it's why he smiles back instead.]

...thank you. [there. that wasn't so hard. and he said what he wanted to say to someone who needs to know that he's impacted his way of living here whether he sees it or not.]

I think they will. It's been...a while since I've seen them. Even longer than just being in this place. I don't know how much longer it'll be, but there's always a someday.

Usually on our island we'd do all kinds of stuff. Sometimes we'd fish, or Kairi would look for shells...Riku and I had an obstacle course we used to race on all the time when we weren't sparring. [he laughs a little.] We built a raft once, too. We used to talk about the existence of other worlds and everything and daydream about going someday. Sometimes we'd just lay out on the beach and look at the stars together. The skies are always so clear you can see forever.

I know it's nothing really exciting compared to other stuff I've done or other stuff other people have done, but I don't care. It was more important that we did it together.

[dianxias]

I think that's plenty exciting. There's no sense in comparing apples to oranges, no?

[ after all, worldhopping - that's a whole different ballgame! he looks fond as sora thanks him and nods his head, then lets the conversation naturally keep flowing. ]

Those are my very favorite stories to hear, anyway. That's part of what I love most about the mortal realm in my own world... the day to day life and the adventures that people live within them.

What's the first thing you'll do when you return to them, do you think?

[reconnective]

Yeah, I guess your life would be a little different if you spend time in the ghost city and stuff. [which is exciting on its own, but...he does miss the day to day life and adventures on his own world, now that he's been so far removed from them.]

But I'm not sure. Depends if we're needed for anything right away and if not...I don't think I have a preference. I just want to be with them again, even if it's just laying on the beach and being happy to be home.
