WEEK SIX: MINGLE

WEEK SIX: MINGLE (25 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Elsa, Yona, Shigeo, and Fiora's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. Once again, participants may find that they have difficulty recalling complete details of the past weeks. Also, anyone who had been poisoned during trial will still be feeling sick! Haha! Finally, participants will find that they are now sporting a new injury. This injury is one that they received in their past, whether they remember it or not. No matter how fatal the injury is, participants won't die from it, and the pain they feel will be dulled down. However, if another participant touches someone's injury effect, even if it's covered, then they will both be hit with whatever pain that was felt when the injury was first inflicted. This pain will last ten seconds. The injury can also be as minor or major as desired.

[ it's probably apparent where all the fairground stuff is as soon as they hit the beach -- fairground sounds, music, lights, smells of food. either way, alex automatically walks in the direction of the pier and the boardwalk once they're past where the barrier usually is. ]

[He's definitely a little starry-eyed when they get to the boardwalk.]

I don't think I've ever been to a place like this before. [Everything is...so overwhelming, but in a good way.] I want to try the food first, though.

Maybe I have at some point? It all seems pretty new though. [ she's seen it once already and it's still... a lot. this is all at the end of the pier? how did they get it all here? amazing. ]

[ food first, huh. well. there's plenty of stalls around here, and it just seems like you can grab whatever you want so. ]

Take your pick. I think there's more further down the fair as well.

[robopriest]

[He squeezes her hand, smiling, and then just. Moves to scramble over the counter of a stall so that he can grab like, five corn dogs.]

[chanteuser]

[ ... oh my god there he goes. alex will grab one corn dog only, but doesn't really move to eat it she just. watches this carnage I guess.

there's something about it that's making her brow furrow a little, like she's trying to piece something together, but hasn't quite got there yet.

still, it seems like he's having a good time? and he's not... hiding in trees, so? ]

[He'll devour a couple of them, but then he moves back over the counter and just.]

[Shyly offers her one he's not bitten into.]

[chanteuser]

[ oh. she has two now. because she's not going to say no? look at him. he's shy. ]

[ she leans forward over the counter to kiss his cheek. ]

[robopriest]

[His cheeks instantly flush and he kind of looks away, but he's smiling.]

[He nods, moving back around to her...and after a moment, he leans in to give her a peck to the cheek in return.]

[chanteuser]

[ hmmm. she takes a moment to make sure she's got both of her snacks in one hand, so she has one free to reach up and tuck some of his hair behind his ear. ]

Are you alright?

[ she... might as well ask, now that he's not in a tree, has eaten some food and she's pretty sure that whatever's shifted over the weekend hasn't made him wary of everyone, her included. ]

[robopriest]

...I don't know.

[He says, after a moment. Really, he doesn't know. He feels like he's being pulled in two different directions, at every moment.]

I'm alright here...being with you

[ in a strongly worded letter to realm, alex is asking it to stop fuckin' with her boys. please and thank you. ]

... [ her hand drops down so she can give him a careful one armed hug, keeping them both away from any food they might be carrying. ]

This started today? The... whole not knowing how you're feeling thing?

[robopriest]

Yeah.

[He's a little more awkward about it, but he leans into her hug.]

...I feel like I'm in the mountains again.

[chanteuser]

[ well at least he's not shoving her away and scaling the fairground booths? she'll take it. ]

... [ ... ah. ]

Like what I saw the other week?

[robopriest]

[He just nods.]

[chanteuser]

[ she sighs, and moves back, giving him some breathing room. ]

Sounds like another memory loss, huh?

... Do you still remember what came after that? Like... before you came here, or just things from back then?

[robopriest]

...Yeah, I remember stuff after that. But it feels weird, because I was...acting different.

[He was civilized. Not...that feral.]

[chanteuser]

[ hm... ]

Just... go with what's comfortable. It's easy to say, but I think focusing on it might stress you out more.

Like Chiron last week, with the ... centaur thing.

[robopriest]

Okay.

[He bumps his shoulder against hers, lightly.]

I won't think about it that much, then.

[chanteuser]

[ ... it'd worked for chiron. sort of. she thinks. ]

Importantly though, even if you're unsure or you feel confused by it, you're still you.

[ that feels like it has to be said. this place messes with their heads enough that sometimes it just has to be said, as a reminder. ]

[robopriest]

[There's a little smile on his face.]

I guess I am, aren't I?

[chanteuser]

Mmhmm. [ she makes a little noise of agreement. they're all still them, despite everything they've lost and the ways it's changed them so far. ]

I think so, at least. For what that's worth.

[ it's still hansa, even if he's hiding in trees and trying to clear out a corndog stand in one go. she's still feels safe and comfortable with him. ]

[robopriest]

I think as long as I'm someone you like...I think that's what matters.

[The last thing he does, even in this state of mind, is to want to be seen by the people he loves as some kind of stranger, or even worse, a threat.]

[chanteuser]

Don't worry about that.

[ she knows by now he'd never do anything to hurt her. not intentionally, and that's what matters. even now, that feeling and certainty is still there. ]

I'm not going to suddenly decide I don't like you because of something the realm did. None of us are.

[robopriest]

That's good.

[He feels at ease with that. Alex...always makes him feel at ease. He's silent for a moment longer, before he points at the shore with his corn dogs.]

Let's go to the beach.

[chanteuser]

Hm?

[ she looks over in the direction he's pointing. ]

Sure. You've had enough to eat? [ ... she'd hope, but who knows. ]
