WEEK SIX: MINGLE

WEEK SIX: MINGLE (25 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Elsa, Yona, Shigeo, and Fiora's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. Once again, participants may find that they have difficulty recalling complete details of the past weeks. Also, anyone who had been poisoned during trial will still be feeling sick! Haha! Finally, participants will find that they are now sporting a new injury. This injury is one that they received in their past, whether they remember it or not. No matter how fatal the injury is, participants won't die from it, and the pain they feel will be dulled down. However, if another participant touches someone's injury effect, even if it's covered, then they will both be hit with whatever pain that was felt when the injury was first inflicted. This pain will last ten seconds. The injury can also be as minor or major as desired.

[normally he would ask why, but he won't. he respects that enough to simply nod instead.]

Anyway, Alphinaud's demeanor appears to brighten up at the suggestion; it's a very "oh thank god I don't have to go in there alone" kind of brightening up. ]

I would be glad for the company.

Okay. Then let's get going. [there's a grin and he turns to begin walking forward, waiting for alphinaud to follow.] Maybe we'll find something really cool further in. Treasure or something.

Hah, what kind of treasure?

Who knows? We won't know until we explore further. But maybe a box or just some really cool rocks. I'm not picky.

I've a feeling you would make for a fine adventurer in mine own world—but you are already one in a way, given how wide and far you are able to travel.

[reconnective]

Yeah, you could say that. But the more I hear about your world the more I want to see it for myself.

[arcsplainist]

Would that I could show you around, full glad would I be to do so! You would truly enjoy what there is to see, and fit in quite well, at that.

I think so, too. [enjoy it, at least.] Maybe someday it'll actually happen. I've got a few other places I wanna go, too. I can probably find my way there eventually.

No need to rush, my friend. It will... likely be a while until I find my way back, as well.

Oh yeah? Are you really far away right now? Or just busy?

I... suppose "far away" is one way of putting it.

[ ... But maybe this warrants an explanation. ]

Do you remember, when first we met, my surprise to hear you could travel to worlds so easily?

Yeah. I mean a lot of people are surprised to hear that, but yeah, I remember. [alphinaud explain...]

—Of course, of course.

I have told you of Norvrandt afore. The short of it is, it is not my world, but rather one I had been unwittingly pulled to, alongside my comrades. While we have reasons to stay behind for the now, the truth is that once we are finished, we will have to find a way to return home... But it will not be easy.

[ Nor does anyone really know how. ]

...oh. Something like that then. [that makes sense, and he doesn't seem too surprised even if he's thoughtful.] Do you remember how you were pulled there in the first place?

[arcsplainist]

Yes—'twas a summoning gone wrong.

[reconnective]

A summoning...something you were trying yourself? Or something someone else did and you got caught up in it?

[arcsplainist]

The latter. The summoning was meant for one person in particular... yet, again, it had gone slightly awry. I could not hope to have the sheer power and mastery of magicks necessary to pull off the same trick.

[reconnective]

Sounds complicated. [summoning is difficult enough, but when you don't even know how it happened...] There's gotta be someone else in that world with similar magic who can help, right?

[arcsplainist]

If there is, I know not of them. We will have to find a way, in some manner or another.

[reconnective]

When I first got to a new world, I didn't know how to get back either. I had to go to a whole bunch of other ones, and even then I didn't get back for a while. But you're with friends, aren't you?

[arcsplainist]

I... believe so, though I confess I remember not who they all are, aside from my sister.

[ A little depressing, but. It is what it is? ]

[reconnective]

[that really is depressing, oh no. the look on his face seems to indicate he thinks it's a sad thing, too, but he weighs his words carefully.]

...you'll remember soon. I know it. And I'm glad you remember your sister. They must be important to you if you've been traveling with them for a while though.
