WEEK TWO: MINGLE
WEEK TWO: MINGLE (37 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed, and new buildings within the town have been unlocked. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Cater, Sharon, and Kano's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. If you break the current ninth rule, participants will get shocked. It will be a mild shock at first, but the longer they touch each other, the stronger it will get. On that note, if your character did not share a memory last week, please make sure to check your notifs! Participants may also find that their memories of the past few weeks are getting fuzzier... as though they can't recall some of the details without focusing. Finally, this week, every time a participant gets within one foot of someone, they will experience the emotions the other person is currently feeling and vice-versa. This will last for ten seconds even after they've stepped out of their personal bubble, after which the sharing itself might share, but the knowledge will not. Have fun! |

[ It's morning! Still at the inn? Whether you're headed to the kitchen or coming from it, Alphinaud can be found sitting at one of the dining area tables. He's working at some tea and toast for a light breakfast, but also laid open on the table is an intricately decorated grimoire; a closer look would reveal its pages are covered in various geometric patterns and mathematical formulas. Alphinaud looks over the pages with a thoughtful furrow to his brow, but if anyone approaches for any reason—be it to say hello or something else entirely—he'll look up. ]
—Oh, good morning. How fare you on this day?
[ It's a polite conversation starter more than anything; he knows most are probably still having it rough. That aside, if you care to notice, printed around his neck and above the scarf wrapped around his shoulders reveals the words: TERRIFIED OF GHOSTS. (No, he hasn't noticed it yet.) ]

[ At the Howling Rose, Alphinaud can be spotted leaning against the ship's railing along the upper deck. He isn't wearing any pirate appropriate clothing—pirates aren't quite the novelty to him—but he does seem to be content where he is.
Should anyone come around, though, he'll glance up (while uh, not turning all the way, for reasons). ]
Come to take in the view as well?
OBLIGATORY WILDCARD OPTION
( i'm EASY to slap me with anything, or hmu on disco if you'd like to plot something out!! )
one :)
This is just too good to pass up.
Hua Cheng lifts his gaze calmly from where he was fiddling with his PHS as he walked, pausing when his eye meets Alphinaud's neck, before he continues his way up to his face. It's only a moment's pause, but it's enough for him. He makes sure to keep himself more than a few feet away, just in case emotions, and adopts something of a grim expression. ]
The morning began well enough, but I've learned something quite interesting - and perhaps unfortunate.
[ Residential Ghost King here to fucking wreck your morning, twink elf. ]
thanks
Alphinaud leans back in his chair, grim expression met with one of puzzlement. ]
Is... is that so?

I've gotten a chance to look around this port that we're in. For the most part, it's fairly peaceful - no one here but us, the same as the other locations have been thus far. But it's interesting, really. So many empty houses that still seem to be lived in... a kitchen with an unknown server...
Why, this little port town? It might very well be haunted.

Why does it say that?

[ she hopes she isn't getting rusty up here. Fiora isn't wearing any pirate clothing, either, but for more obvious reasons. She approaches, not yet noticing him acting weird in any way. ]
Does your world have places like this, Alphinaud? The Bionis only really has rivers and lakes - I've never seen a boat this big before.
no subject
[ Yeah don't mind him very purposefully keeping his side to her. ]
Aye, verily. 'Tis not unlike one of the city-states of Eorzea, built by the sea just as this is. I must confess it's a comforting sort of familiarity, in spite of the obvious differences.
no subject
Yeah. It's standing up, so we're all too high to be anywhere near the ocean. I've only been down there recently. [ she's more interested in Eorzea, though. ] A city in a place like this, though? That sounds like somewhere I'd like to live. I bet they've got all sorts of seafood...

I don't get to look out over the water all that often!

No? A shame. Then I wager you will be getting much of it this coming week.
no subject
I'm going to make the most of it! Space was... certainly interesting, but there was something also... overwhelming about it.

he takes the toast out of his mouth, at least, and gives a bow of his head in greeting. ] Good morning... Alphinaud, right? I'm alright - what are you working on...? That's a fascinating tome.
no subject
—This?
[ Alphinaud glances down, then back up. ]
'Tis not work, exactly... I could not recall where this tome came from or what it contains, so I had a mind to attempt deciphering it out.
no subject
Perhaps it came with you from the place you were originally from...?

You've.. got something. [ vague gestures ]

Something?

You're... afraid of ghosts?

But he'll answer the other with a nod, his hooves echoing loud on the wooden boards.]
I have. And explore to my heart's content.
[With a soft hum]
Though I admit, it has been a very long time since I was last on a ship.

There is a brightness to her eyes as she takes in the ocean view, as she nods. ]
There is something unforgettable about the sun against the ocean.
no subject
Quite; I am glad to be given a more familiar view this week. Although...
[ He very pointedly looks her up and down. ]
Are you certain you should be out this far just yet?
