WEEK FIVE: MINGLE

WEEK FIVE: MINGLE (29 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Alyssa, Hikaru, and Bucky's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. On that note, if your character did not stay, please make sure to check your notifs. Once again, participants may find that they have difficulty recalling complete details of the past weeks. Finally, participants will find that they now have another pet to take care of. Small creatures (based on any animal of player choice, real or mythical) will be following them around all week. However, these creatures are emotionally tied to their participant, so whatever the person they are connected to is feeling, they will outwardly display it. Angry? They will be hostile. Happy? So are they! Even more, they will react to other participants based on how theirs feels about the other. Anyone their participant loves, they will also love. Hope you don't secretly hate anyone, that might be awkward.

[ H̀ua͢ ̕Ch́eng͞ looks at their tasks, his companion in its huli jing form weaving around both Usagi and Homura's legs. A glance up - he raises a hand to lazily wave at Ochako where she's working with Dorothy and Rufus - and then he looks at the decorations that the other group has already left for them to hang up. ]

... hm, well. I guess we pick a corner and start putting them up. Wherever there aren't others already working so that we don't make a mess.

[ h̵ǫm̷u͡yuuri glances a little unsurely at the flowers. weren't the others sneezing, earlier...? her companion doesn't seem quite as hesitant, flitting over to a couple stray blooms, picking them up, and.

dropping them in hc and usagi's hair. ]

I suppose we can each take a corner and work our way around...

[ that said she is also looking dubiously at the amount of vertical surface they have to cover. ]

[ usagi immediately looks delighted. just give her a few minutes though ]

I think that’ll be the best! We’ll have to work fast to keep up with everyone’s hard work!

ANYWAYS the blooms don't bother him, and he instead just vibes with them in his hair. He'll reach down to pick up a set of decorations, squinting his eye at them while Usagi seems to be enjoying herself now. ]

THat's fine, I think we can do it. Better than the dinosaurs. [ ... though ] Do we have a ladder?

... Not at current, it seems.

Perhaps we are expected to make our own as another potential decoration?

[ no. but hey, its job done, her magpie flutters up to perch on some convenient overhang.

[ usagi just looks at him like 'you are our ladder'. and beams ]

It'll certainly be a challenge....

[ she turns to look around the ballroom in contemplations and sneezes. hm ]

Maybe we'll just have to figure it out as we go.

[ Unfortunately he can read that look, and gives Usagi a dry one back. Which pretty much says "that's what I thought." ]

Yuuri's companion can fly, and mine can when the form has changed... otherwise...

[ shrug, they'll figure it out ]

Let's deal with the decorations that can go a little lower, first.

My companion is also a little small, as the trend seems to be. That said, perhaps if she were to be a little bigger...

[ stares at bird. embiggen yourself. no, it doesn't work like that, they shift based on how the person is feeling. ~soul~ reflection, after all! ]

... Well. I suppose she could carry something like streamers and ribbons?

[ but sure, lower things first. ]

[ usagi giggles. it's fine ]

Luna might be able help a little but only if there's a way up.

[ she looks down at her cat friend who only yawns at her feet, idly scratching an ear. ......... thanks friend. ]

Though I suppose if they wish to help, they will.

[ she doesn't seem particularly confident in that ]

[ He turns to look at the huli jing, staring it down. It looks back up at him, its right eye still closed, before it changes into the wraith butterfly form and flutters up. ]

Mine can't carry more than streamers and ribbons, either, so they can do that while we focus on this.

[ Mostly, he wants to get this taken care of, so his is cooperating rather easily with a few lazy flaps of its wings.

He then looks at the decorations, and picks one up, and - sneezes. ]

[ hers shares yuuri's to the point-ness and brisk efficiency when it comes time to actually get things done, so the magpie swoops down to pick up whatever end the butterfly isn't taking care of. huzzah. goth teamwork.

shame about the decorations made from the flowers from hell, though. she's just going to try to pick up a paper lantern-

which promptly bursts into flame in her hands, startling her into a sudden step backwards on slippery flooring. which means of course she loses her balance. while holding something actively on fire.

we're doing great, gang. ]

[ Usagi's immediately diving to catch her except she doesn't keep an eye on the floor so homu's more than likely landing on her than anything. it's fine.

it's amazing they made enough progress to finish on time, huh ]

Hua Cheng jolts when everything happens so much, holding the decorations in his hands and watching Homura eat shit, and then Usagi afterwards. Once they've crashed, he turns away to - go and grab a vase full of water. ]

Yuuri, drop it.

[horologia]

[ don't need to tell her twice. the lantern gets dropped as far away from her as possible (so arm's length, probably), though whether that's because hc tells her to or if it's just the result of having another teenage girl land on top of her is up in the air. ]

... nothing here is ever simple, is it.

[moondumplings]

[ at least usagi thinks it's funny given how she immediately scrambles to her knees and starts giggling in between sneezes. ]

It certainly never gets- achoo! boring!

[ at this rate they're going to just have to yeet things at the walls like koosh balls. ]

[supremity]

[ FWSSSHHH as he dumps the vase on the decoration, because better to extinguish it than have either of them set on fire. If they get a little splashed in the process, it's a minor sacrifice, he thinks. ]

I'll take it over the dinosaurs. The ghosts were fine, I'm used to that. [ ... the dinosaurs. A moment to think of whether his dinosaur would be useful for this.

... it's so ill behaved, so no. ]

[ mmmm splashing. glad we're adding to the overall 'caution, wet floor' vibes here. ]

... my dinosaur can fly, as can Tsukino-san's, but...

[ the last time they were in the same place they wanted to playfight and nothing more. ]

They're all a bit too childish to focus on tasks, usually, unless there's a more pressing situation involved.

[ stares into void about Taako's dinosaur for a while ]

Here, up we get. [ He holds out his hands for the both of them, one each, because he hasn't lost the left one yet ha ha. ]

Can you carry both of us?

[ what is she saying, stupid question. sure. hc is their ladder now.

just let her grab another decoration first and hopefully not sneeze doing it. alley oop. ]

I'm not as strong as gege - not that there's anyone who is, especially here - but you're both fairly light.

[ He lets Homura get the decoration, which hopefully won't catch fire??? And hup, she can go up first.

She can decide if she wants to stand on his shoulder. ]

Fair enough.

[ this one, thankfully, does not catch fire! so she'll just gingerly climb/allow him to help her up.

and what do you take her for, she's going to try. at least she's in leggings and a tunic. but first. ]

You don't have any shoulder injuries that no one knows about, right? It would be fine if most of my weight rested on two smaller points?

[ weight distribution on feet vs just hanging out on a shoulder. ]

En, I'm fine. My shoulder was dislocated two weeks ago, now, but it's healed. [ He's not concerned about it - it was a brief thing, and minor in terms of injuries he's had. ] Stand where you like, Yuuri.

[ He keeps his hand up for her, in case she finds herself needing the extra balance. Usagi gets a pat on the head while they figure this out. ]

[horologia]

[ one climber at a time is probably for the best, honestly. glad their bird and butterfly have been helping out somewhere else, but there sure is a lot of ballroom to cover, so.

as large and elaborate as whatever wreath it is she picked up might be, it's kind of dwarfed by the rest of the blank wall. ]

... We have a lot of work ahead of us, don't we.

[supremity]

[ Slowly, he looks up when he sees the wreath that she's put up. There's a moment of silence, as he makes sure that his feet aren't on a slippery spot, and... ]

So much work. [ Hua Cheng - sighs, laughing a little at the end. ] Let's... try not to sneeze or pick any more that seem inclined to catch fire.

[ usagi finally looks up from snoozing zoning out from attaching sticky stuff to the back of a bunch of the decoration piles they have ]

Maybe.... if I put the sticky stuff on, Hua Cheng-san helps find a good spot, and Yuuri-chan places them up, we should be able to finish quickly!

[ before they sneeze to death and set the whole place on fire. ]
