WEEK FIVE: MINGLE

WEEK FIVE: MINGLE (29 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Alyssa, Hikaru, and Bucky's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. On that note, if your character did not stay, please make sure to check your notifs. Once again, participants may find that they have difficulty recalling complete details of the past weeks. Finally, participants will find that they now have another pet to take care of. Small creatures (based on any animal of player choice, real or mythical) will be following them around all week. However, these creatures are emotionally tied to their participant, so whatever the person they are connected to is feeling, they will outwardly display it. Angry? They will be hostile. Happy? So are they! Even more, they will react to other participants based on how theirs feels about the other. Anyone their participant loves, they will also love. Hope you don't secretly hate anyone, that might be awkward.

Yeah, that sounds like you. [thanks sora. but somehow this is still a compliment.] I don't think it's a bad thing to know how to use multiple weapons anyway. My Keyblade can take on a ton of different forms so I can do close range and long range combat, too.

It's really cool. Maybe once we fix everything here we'll get our powers back and I can show you. We have to get everything back sometime, right?

I hope so... if the problems here in the Realm are responsible for what we're missing, fixing it should mean we get them back. At least, that's what I'd hope for.

It'd be kind of like cheating if the Realm decided to keep everything after we helped fix it. [boo on you, realm.] Are you just missing your items? Or did you have powers, too?

[dawnblushed]

[she shakes her head]

I didn't have any powers - I'm just a human.

Ohh. That's not a bad thing either though. From what I've seen you're a better fighter than some of the people who do have powers.

[dawnblushed]

I had good teachers. And... good motivation, I guess.

...there was a time I couldn't defend myself, once. I never want to be unable to protect myself ever again.

[reconnective]

Yeah. I remember you told me about that when I saw that memory of yours. [he nods to himself then.] You remind me of someone very important to me. She got tired of waiting around and being unable to fight, too, and so one day she left and started teaching herself.

She's pretty good now. I think it takes a lot of strength to do something like that. [being self-motivated and all.]

Really? I'd like to meet her! Maybe we could exchange training tips.

[ha ha]

...good for her, though. Being able to protect yourself - and to protect people who are important to you... it's the best feeling in the world.

You guys would get along. She's great. [he looks so grossly fond talking about kairi.]

Riku and I were off on other worlds trying to fight and defend them, and she decided she didn't want to wait for us to come back and joined the fight. I think...she probably felt the same way. [the best feeling, to protect those important to you.]

I always think it's sort of impressive when people make that choice themselves.

She sounds great.

It's impressive... it can be hard to overcome feeling like you have to sit and wait for someone else to help you. But people are capable of amazing things when they try. It sounds like your friend is proof of that.

Yeah...both of my best friends are like that, I guess. Kairi's technically a princess, too, but she learned to fight. And Riku had to overcome some stuff to become a Keyblade Master and it wasn't easy either.

Being around both of them makes me want to try even harder.

You seem plenty strong. It sounds like the three of you are very good for each other.

[alas, too bad neither of them are here!]

Yeah. I think we are. [he's very hopeless about them. but as they go, they'll enter the woods!] How far in do you think we should go? I don't wanna catch anybody by surprise.

Hmm... the further in, the better, I think. Someone who's just out for a casual stroll will probably stay closer to the outskirts.

[reconnective]

The center it is! [a dramatic point!! and onward!!] Just as long as we know the way back. Shouldn't be too hard though if we look at our trail.

[dawnblushed]

If it seems like we're getting too far in or going off the trail, we can mark the trees.

[reconnective]

Hmm...maybe we should start doing that now before we get too far in?

[dawnblushed]

Oh, good plan.

[gently marks an x on a tree trunk with her sword]

[nod! and he'll walk ahead and mark another x in a tree nearby as they venture into the woods.]

Usually when I travel, we find treasure chests laying around that have these maps in 'em. It helps us figure out where we're supposed to be going. Sometimes I wish this place had something similar.

[note to self: draw maps for the next game i run that have hidden passages and rooms marked on them]

That does sound useful. There were maps a couple of weeks ago, but they didn't look like they were of these areas...

Nah. I've been checking them and they aren't really helpful. Have you ever noticed that they're all about the same size though? There's always some kind of barrier we can't cross.

No idea. When the port was here, Clementine and I went sailing and we crashed right into an invisible boundary. Like the memory of this place itself wasn't ever completed or regained.

Maybe...something like that? [walking ahead, he marks off another tree.]
