WEEK SIX: INVESTIGATION (?? remain) On Friday morning at 7am, all the doors will unlock and the participants may traverse between areas again. Participants will find that, as they leave wherever they slept, everything feels... unclear? Did they see whoever they were with? They can no longer remember. Even for those who spent the night alone, they can feel that something is off. It doesn't seem as though the Leaders are around, but at this point, everyone should realize what has happened. Time to investigate. ༶•┈┈⛧┈｡o°✥✣ 　　 ✣✥°o｡┈⛧┈┈•༶ Welcome to your seventh investigation! We will be posting top-levels for searchable locations—one set at 6pm EST and another set at 7pm EST. Each location will contain evidence to find, though it's up to your efforts as to whether you find all of it. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters. We will stop tagging each top-level two hours after it went up, i.e. at 8pm and 9pm EST, respectively. Don't worry if you don't find everything! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9pm EST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s). she sighs and stares out over the sand. what does she see, is it the killer's name written in the sand ]

[ Hua Cheng is not going to judge her and her layers. Did he sleep on beach..1? and make his way over this way, or was he already here?

I have no idea, but he's looking around as he comes to join Lup - anything in the immediate waterline with the tide? Are we at low tide? High tide? Does it matter? ]

[ As Lup stares out over the sand, she sees... footprints. Unfortunately. :unamused: She might also see something large and sandy in the distance...?

It's of whatever tide you want it to be, maybe. Hua Cheng will see something shining on the shoreline. ]

[evocationary]

Fintastic. [ she mutters, after giving hua cheng a little smile. time to compare her feet to the footprints! also, she's going to... go towards the large and sandy thing. which way do the footprints lead? ]

[supremity]

Tubular. [ dryly back to her muttering, Hua Cheng shoots a quirk of an almost-smirk her way before - heading off towards the shiny thing. Anything of note as he gets closer to check it out?

What's the shiny thing. ]

[ Lup will find that the footprints are around her size, though they don't lead in any particular direction. The large and sandy thing, as it turns out, is a glorious sandcastle. Who the heck had time to build this last night.

Hua Cheng doesn't see anything of note along the way, but the shiny thing is a golden bow. ]

You gotta be krilling me, a sandcastle?

[ she... walks up to the sandcastle, and just stares at it. does anything look weird about it first off? ]

[supremity]

Oh, bummer dude.

[ ... closes his eye for a second, sighs, and then comes to use the toe of his boot to lift one end of the bow so he can carefully pick it up at the upper string hook. Anything off about the bow? Any prints coming or going from the water? ]

[retellers]

[ If Lup looks closely, she'll notice bullets where the castle struts and turrets would go. Otherwise, nothing else can be seen within this majesty at a glance. It's a very well-constructed castle.

Nothing off about the bow! It just looks like it washed up on the shore. No footprints. But now that Hua Cheng is here, he might see... more shiny things in the water? ]

[ okay, first of all, hua cheng's surfer dude speech is killing her, and she can't keep in her giggles at it.

second. i - why bullets.

she takes all the bullets. these are hers now.

how big is the sandcastle, is it big enough to climb into? she nudges the side with her foot. lup, the structural integrity. ]

[ Stop leave him alone this is the third time he's had weird talking-related effects.

He slides the bow onto his shoulder, hooking his arm through it, just vibing and carrying it like that since he only has one fucking hand anyways. Gotta free it up to go and check out the new shinies.

Please kick down the sand castle Lup maybe there's a body ]

[ There aren't any gaps for her to climb into, but if she wants to burrow into it like a mole, she is free to do that. She nudges the side, bringing down part of the castle. With some of it collapsed, there's the edge of something shiny poking through the sand...?

Hua Cheng finds a gun cylinder and bullets in the water. He can be matchies with Lup in the bullet club. But also, now that he's in the water, he might see something further out, floating in the ocean! ]

[ burrowing is probably bad considering her open wounds so like, she doesn't do that, but - she will, in fact, grab the shiny thing. and just knock the whole castle down. what an asshole. ]

SIGHS

He undoes his belt and right bracer+vambrace combo, shrugging out of his red robe and dropping the bow on top so he can make a satchel of evidence once he's collected everything. The boots go off as well, and he fetches the gun cylinder and bullets to toss with the bow before going off after the thing further out. ]

[retellers]

[ Lup has obtained one (1) gun! The castle is coming down now. Unfortunately, she's left with a giant mound of sand now, so functionally, anything potentially inside is still hidden. At least she knows there was nothing else hidden in the outside walls, though?

Hua Cheng, who is doing his best, finds a PHS. And now that he's here... a little further out, there's something else! ]

[ she glances over her shoulder at hua cheng. frowns. maybe she should've been the one to swim, actually, but. she'll dig into the mound of sand, she guesses, while keeping an eye on hua cheng to make sure he doesn't drown or run into a shark with a gun

[ Maybe Poseidon will quiver before her and spare her inves buddy..?

It's fine. Despite being one-armed, Hua Cheng is a strong swimmer - he gets the PHS, tucks it into his inner robe, and keeps going out towards the new thing further out. Whoever chucked this evidence is going to get smacked with the bow as soon as they pin who it was. ]

[ Lup digs into the mound and obtains......... another gun!

Though you know what, maybe Hua Cheng should've called Lup over after all! Because what he finds is a body, drifting in the water. ]

[ ... she pockets this gun, and then glances over to the water. ]

Hua Cheng? Are you rising to the bait over there? [ look puns are hard

she makes her way over to the waves - ah, fuck. a body. she'll just - take her robes off in anticipating of having to help. ]

Prolly gonna need a hand here, brah, don't think I'm gonna be able to get a floater back solo.

[ Calling back as he treads water - and hating every second of it - before he goes closer to see if he can find out who it is. Yay, body! ]

[ Actually, I just checked this body's weight and it should probably not be floating, so I'm changing my mind. A random current brought it up temporarily or something, and it's now sinking back underwater. You're going to have to dive for this body. ]

[ oh, there it go.

she does, however, feel a little spike of fear as the body goes under. she forgets about her stab wound and runs in after him, pulling her hair back as she goes. her not seventy feet long hair, thankfully. she's going to swim out to help hua cheng get the body... ]

[ There it sure fuckin goes! Shit.

He takes a deep breath, before diving down after the body. He's going to reopen something and he knows it, and gege will scold him, nevermind the fact his eye is an open wound under his eyepatch. It's fine. They're both having a fun time.

[ Once they're underwater, it's pretty obvious who the body belongs to. It's a very distinctive shape.

Chiron is dead. Also, he apparently weighs, like, 2000 pounds? So have fun with that? ]
