WEEK SIX: INVESTIGATION (?? remain) On Friday morning at 7am, all the doors will unlock and the participants may traverse between areas again. Participants will find that, as they leave wherever they slept, everything feels... unclear? Did they see whoever they were with? They can no longer remember. Even for those who spent the night alone, they can feel that something is off. It doesn't seem as though the Leaders are around, but at this point, everyone should realize what has happened. Time to investigate. ༶•┈┈⛧┈｡o°✥✣ 　　 ✣✥°o｡┈⛧┈┈•༶ Welcome to your seventh investigation! We will be posting top-levels for searchable locations—one set at 6pm EST and another set at 7pm EST. Each location will contain evidence to find, though it's up to your efforts as to whether you find all of it. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters. We will stop tagging each top-level two hours after it went up, i.e. at 8pm and 9pm EST, respectively. Don't worry if you don't find everything! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9pm EST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s). [hm...well sora's jumping down from the pier and approaching usagi, eyes sweeping the beach and the waves.]

[ There's no body buried in the sand, although they might notice something sticking out of the sand nearer to the ocean! It looks a bit like a small stick from far away. ]

[moondumplings]

[ she gives sora a bit of a stink eye for that pun but luckily the maybe stick catches her eye! wow, lucky. ]

There's something over there...?

[ time to crab shuffle their way over ]

[pouting. but okay. if there's something sticking out of the sand that usagi's going to go fetch, he'll follow along and heads for the water itself. anything floating nearby?]

[retellers]

[ It turns out it's not a stick once Usagi unearths it! It's an arrow! She'll recognize it as the same kind of arrows as the ones from the ruins, many weeks back.

There is something in the water. it looks like the fin of a dolphin? ]

[moondumplings]

[ hm.... she squints at it. it's not covered in blood or has a useful 'I DID IT' note tied to the shaft does it? ]

Don't these look like the ones Chiron-san had...?

[ she'll be taking it back to Sora. ]

[he looks over his shoulder and he nods slowly.]

Yeah...kinda fishy, isn't it? [and speaking of fishy:] Hold onto that. Anything on it?

[...he's gonna wade in the water after this dolphin fin i'm sorry. what is this...?]

[retellers]

[ There's no note on the arrow! It's just an arrow.

Sora jumps into the ocean blindly and the dolphin swims up to him with a happy dolphin noise. Also it is holding a gun in its mouth. ]

[moondumplings]

[ terrible. ]

Nothing!!

[ meanwhile, noticing the shiny weapon in its mouth, usagi pales terribly ]

Sora-kun! The dolphin.....!

[reconnective]

[...it is holding a gun in its mouth, but at this point sora's just. not even surprised. he gives usagi a grin though and lets the dolphin approach.]

Uh. Hey there! [yes. to the dolphin.] Think you could do me a reely big favor and let us take that back? [he holds out a hand. gun please? i truly hope he gets shot for this.]

[ me: anything under a 5 gets sora shot
dolphin: :3c?

anyway, the dolphin nods and tries to give sora the gun but somehow pulls the trigger. how? why? no one knows, but the safety definitely wasn't on. ]

[moondumplings]

[ YELLS ]

Sora-kun...!

[ somehow she is not in firing range ]

[reconnective]

[well. bad. the dolphin's doing its best and the gun fires and suddenly he's also yelling!]

Watch it! [unfortunately he is not spared.






...and by not spared i mean he dodges just enough, but he slides on the wet sand and immediately bites it, falling into the ocean. ow. his everything.

but he's probably now eye-level with this dolphin so he will carefully take this gun. what kind of gun is it? time to put the safety back on though, jesus.]

Where did you even get this? [does this dolphin have anything else? he turns back to usagi.] Are you okay?

[ The dolphin does not have anything else, but it seems to be expecting sora to throw the gun back. play? play? it rolls on its back to float belly up for two seconds. pet its tummy. "do dolphins do that" they do if i say so, i made it fire a gun.

anyway, the gun seems to look like the ones found in the wild west, though it's got a few scratches on it. anyway, since he ate shit and usagi just completely missed the bullet, they can notice there seems to be some blood a little further from where they are, still near the edge of the water.

but play with the dolphin first. dolphin tax. ]

[ usagi's really going to go grey just from the realm alone at this rate. ]

I'm okay.

[ the blood gets noted but that's a later them problem because despite giving them both heart attacks, the dolphin is the most valid animal here right now? clearly, it's time to take a five minute break. ]

[ meanwhile, here she is also wading into the water to help Sora up but also to give the dolphin pats for being a good friend. thank you for gun. ]

[he will absolutely pat this dolphin's tum. a good friend. he's holding this gun though and he'll also try to open it to check how many bullets may've been fired. he may have also just ripped open his chest bandages again. don't mind the slight blood.]

Fintastic. [dryly. but pats for dolphin.] But this guy's very friendly, at least. [he'll reach into his pocket though and pull out what looks like a beach stone?] We can play fetch if you want, but we need to keep the gun.

[god. while this is going on, he's looking along the beach and spots the blood.]

Hey. Do you see that? [blood for the blood gods?]

[ The dolphin got its pat and is now just making excited dolphin noises because it wants play. play? play? it will take the gun back if no play.

Anyway, the blood seems to go from the sand near the water towards the boardwalk. But you can see that from here, play with the dolphin instead. ]

[ she's cooing. what a good dolphin buddy. ]

We'll definitely play for a while for helping us..!

[ she does look up at his question however and turns back to the blood trail, making a face. why this. ]

...Mm.

[ usa absolutely doesn't want to go investigate that on her own so she'll just hang out here until Dolphin-san is satisfied. ]

[the gun goes into his pocket where it's safe but he holds up the rock. also mods ignoring my bullets question :pensive:

anyway they can play with the dolphin! maybe the dolphin has more clues? or maybe the dolphin's just better than a murder.]

Okay, okay. You ready? Go get it! [he flings the rock for the dolphin to play fetch. they can invest Soon.]

[ oh there's two bullets left and the gun looks a little dinged up i just fully missed the question. im smart. it's week 6 gang expect nothing of me.

anyway the dolphin goes to fetch the rock!!! it even manages to come back with the same rock, which is impressive because sora sure did throw a rock in the ocean. it will give it to usagi? its her turn now. ]

[ it sure is...! she's clapping for dolphin-san for finding the same exact rock in an ocean full of stuff ]

So smart...!

[ she will do her best to throw it out into the open waters. fetch boy! ]

[reconnective]

Nice! [he claps for the dolphin! who's a good boy? you are! you are!!! he pats the dolphin's nose before it takes off though.

also thank you for my answer, they're gonna wait for this dolphin to come back with the same damn rock.]

[ the dolphin gets back and even does the whole jump out of the water to land near them trick before giving them the rock. it deserves so many fishies but i guess it's just a very lonely dolphin instead.

[happy dolphin noises] intensify ]

[ at least usagi can give it all the pats and tum rubs she can manage while giving sora the rock for round three? are we going for more?? ]

[more applause for dolphin! this poor dolphin just wants some attention, so yeah. and he yeets the rock!]

We should dolphinitely keep going...[he sounds so reluctant. can they see how far the blood goes from here? it's just heading for the boardwalk, right?] But we can probably ask if he's okay with waiting for us for a bit?
