WEEK SEVEN: MINGLE

WEEK SEVEN: MINGLE (21 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. As usual, the participants will find that their lodgings have changed, and should anyone check their PHS, Chiron, Ochako, Soo-won, and Dorothy's profiles have been removed. They may also find that they have difficulty recalling complete details of the past weeks. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. Not everything is the same as the previous pattern, though. The barrier to the north is back up, and once more, what lies beyond is an empty field. In contrast, however, participants may notice that they can finally access a place they haven't been able to before... Additionally, it looks like the Leaders aren't around. No matter where the participants look, they're nowhere to be found. Should anyone try calling for them in the Planetarium, there will be no response—not even a message telling the participant that they're busy. Finally, everything around the participants begins to... glitch? Buildings may suddenly blink out of existence and then back in, random items like chairs or cups may suddenly distort even while they're being used, and looking at any particular thing for too long may give someone a headache. It's worse than it was that one week, though: participants will find that it's happening to themselves as well. Body parts might suddenly glitch out of existence then back in, and there will be a shot of pain when it occurs. It'll happen randomly, but it also seems to occur more often if they're touching something or another person.

After pinching the bridge of his nose for a second - really? That memory? Right now? - he’s looking over at lup mostly because that probably didn’t go super great for her! That probably didn’t go over great. You alive?]

that one pretty much kicks her ass. they're on a road, but she doesn't seem to notice because she's going to stumble and nearly fall over. wow, her head hurts real bad. more than half of that was - static-y, like watching through a bad reception, and she isn't quite sure why she's got tears rolling down her cheeks, but they are!

a shivery exhale. ]

... Th -- there's a dog. [ she says uselessly. ]

[oh...bad. this is new to him and there's so much he wants to say to both of them. he pauses in his steps then, trying to sort out what he just saw before he nods slowly, reaching for one of Lup's hands if she wants it and also to make sure she doesn't suddenly bite it.]

It's almost over. [a reminder to both of them. all of them. their memories will come back soon and things will be fixed and they'll save cloud. but he begins to walk a little faster down the road to a good boy.]

[ WHY IS IT CONSTANTLY DOGS

clementine is freezing up again, like she can't decide if she wants to look at the twins with Concern or keep her eyes on this dog that will probably try to murder her AS DOGS TEND TO DO. she is taking a very slow, cautious step back... ]

[ The dog(?) stands up, walking closer slowly as he squints at them with his one eye ]

I believe the proper term is "lab-rat dog". [ It's said in a deadpan that implies it's a joke, though not one any of them will recognize. also, why is this dog so proper. hilarious. ] This is the end of the road. [ the dog looks back, because the joke here is "literally", but; ] You would do well to prepare yourselves. He's coming.

[Taako will also offer a hand to her, though he’s not sure if she’ll take it from him right now. Uh. Anyway. The Dog thing is crackin’ jokes! Boss fight time.]

Uh— I don’t get it, sorry dawg. Maybe we can go over your backstory later? Sounds sad.

[ honestly, she'll take both of their hands, following along. she brushes at her eyes with her shoulder, clearing her throat. ]

[he will hold lup's hand and also casually scoot so he's slightly blocking clementine from this dog. sometimes your mom and your girlfriend (?) both have trauma buttons being hit and you're not sure what to do here. also i would like to reiterate he does not have a third hand but taako's trauma is also valid :\]

You mean Sephiroth, right? [because the weirdly ominous nature of things doesn't sound like he just means cloud.] Guess we're as ready as we're gonna get.

[ He's mostly lion, it's fine. But he looks up to the ominously dark sky and nods. ]

Yes. Once that's done, you'll find Cloud. [ ... ] You may call me Red XIII. It is not my name, but that is what they know me by. [ he stays where he is after he notices Clem seems nervous though, lit tail twitching ] I'll be here to lend you my aid in battle.

[ if red is allowed to be the guest party member in 7r he can be guest party member here too, also, most of you aren't fighters right now plz ]

[What trauma? It’s fine. It’s definitely not an adrenaline shot of relieving a moment of extreme fear and anxiety happening right before a boss battle, so I think everything is probably cool in Taako-town. He’s shuffling from foot to foot though, just waiting.]

[ she sniffs. and squeezes taako's hand tightly. ] Let's go kick Sephiroth's ass, then. Am I taking the fire one? What do we do with your belt?

I assume Taako has to wear the belt once we load it with materia? And if Ru is holding the fire materia and thinking about casting that should work. Clem has more ammo and I have my swords...so we should be okay as long as everybody watches each other.

[he glances to clementine again.] Ready for this?

[ clem seems to be relatively soothed that this thing can talk, actually? easier to read something when it talks and is, like, explicitly on your side. ]

[ red sounds very amused, and it is 100% because of the name. anyway, Red XIII will lead them into a crack in fabric of reality that's white and seems to be leading them somewhere! If you guys have anything you want to do before I write like 2 tags of a boss battle real quick, or just like. go in. whichever. ]

[ Here all five of them are, on what looks to be a meteorite in the middle of space. Don't question these things.

Sephiroth is here! And, unfortunately, this time, he has his ridiculously long looking sword. Fortunately, he does not get to talk, because Red starts you guys off with a lunge tackle at him.

Also, more fortunately, loading up the belt was the goddamn cheat code, so Red isn't the only one showing up to aid them! There's Barret coming in to shoot, Aerith showing up and casting spells and Tifa punching very fast LOOK IM WRITING THESE REAL QUICK the point is, its 8 on 1 now go wild kids ]

[Summons!!!!!!! Taako is running around with his belt. He has no weapons except his little lisa frank knife so. Mostly just concentrated on staying the fuck out of the way. That’s the wizard code. Stand near the back and don’t get hit.]

with her fire orb, and her shotgun. she just blasts the absolute shit out of sephiroth with her orb. die, binch.

she's probably laughing while she does it, actually. ]

[you know who's used to boss battles? this binch. you know who's fought sephiroth before? also this binch. that is to say sora's immediately dodging other people's attacks as he dives in with his sword, immediately swinging to beat the shit out of sephiroth with his sword as best as he can.]

[ clementine is used to shooting people but they don't usually look like fucking sephiroth and have a sword a mile long and also there aren't usually people she doesn't want to shoot in the way

but it's fine! she manages to not shoot any allies!

it's very weird being a normie in a jrpg fight. ]

[ All of these attacks do damage, but this is a jrpg boss battle and so Sephiroth is not defeated even with eight people going at it. I would describe his attacks but it's basically like, sephiroth strikes people super fast with his sword and is just kind of a fucking asshole all the time.

Aerith is the most lovely of the summons and hands Taako an extra staff that has a bonus spell which she mouths is thunder.

Anyway stabby stabby! Last call for stabbing and slicing probably! ]
