WEEK ZERO: ARRIVAL
WEEK ZERO: ARRIVAL (43 remain) Whatever each character was doing—chatting with friends, going to bed, saving the world—ceases. In fact, it's likely nothing more than a groggy memory now, as they open their eyes to unfamiliar surroundings. Apparently, they took a nap right in the middle of a small town, plopped outside on the paved road. Ow? Oh, but it looks like they've been given a goodie bag. Everyone likes gifts, right? Inside, it contains:
- packets of tea - one unlabeled pill - a rock that resembles the galaxy - if they're of age, a mini bottle of alcohol; if they're underage, a can of Mountain D*w Baja Blast instead - a singular condom - a single random one of these pillows (how did this fit?) - a handheld device Should they boot up the device, the screen helpfully informs them that it's a Participant Help System (PHS). Not much on it, but it does have a few apps, including a memo one for taking notes. There's also a messaging system, though it's only capable of receiving messages, not sending any. As a matter of fact, there's an alert for a new message already. Maybe it'll explain what's going on. Good evening, everyone. Uh, how are we sure theyāre arriving in the evening? Just say āhelloā! Or āgreetingsā! Greetings is fancy, right? Oh thatās true. Greetings, everyone. Thatās better? Yes! Except maybe we take out the thatās better part in the final version. Will do! Er, what? Unfortunately, it seems as though that's the only info they're given for now. In the meantime, why not explore the surrounding area? A number of buildings are locked, and the Planetarium appears to be closed, but there's enough to keep the characters occupied for a day or two. They might even want to get to know their fellow "participants" better, while they're at it. |

[haha this sure is a fucking weird situation isn't it!! but even so, if you manage to meander your way to the inn, you might enter the building and find your nose immediately assaulted by. . . the smell of delicious dinner???]
[following your nose will lead you to the kitchen, where a young woman with short, purple hair hums lightly to herself as she cooks!! she has already whipped up some cute sandwiches and beef skewers and is currently working on dessert. . .?]
[when you walk in, she greets you with a polite smile and a small bow]
Why, hello there. ♥ Since it seems we may be here for a while, why don't you sit down and rest?
wildcard.
[I'M TIRED YOU ONLY GET ONE PROMPT FROM ME!! I'll be tagging out tho and hmu on discord if you want to do something specific!]

he bows back immediately!]
Hello, miss. I would like to heed your request - but I'm afraid I have to insist on the favor being returned.
Can I at least wash these dishes for you once everyone's had a chance to partake in your cooking?
no subject
[and you know what, she might be a maid but--]
Who am I to say no to an offer like that?
[she glances over at the sink
[it's overflowing with dirty dishes]
no subject
and manages a soft laugh before going to seat himself]
I insist. Allow me a moment to enjoy your food first, and I'll put myself to the task right away.

Ange is definitely peering into the kitchen uncertainly.]
You truly made all of this...?
no subject
[she seems to be decorating some petit fours, btw. with cute little frosting flowers]
Of course! This is nothing for a humble servant such as myself.
[she also might be laying it on a bit thick, but WHATEVER]
Once I saw how many people were trapped here with me, I knew that eventually we'd all get hungry.
no subject
[A pause.]
Miss maid...?
[She's got the same sort of maid aesthetic that Ange is used to seeing from the high class ladies with their maids.]

Yeah, I think so, too. What're you making? [resting is not an option and he's nosy.]
no subject
Well, I've finished the appetizer-- [gestures to the sandwiches] -- and the main course-- [gestures to the meat skewers!!]
So all that is left is dessert.
[gestures to the tiny petit fours she's decorating!!]
Do you like ham and cheese sandwiches? Or perhaps beef and vegetable skewers?

Do you know what a Keebler elf is?
no subject
[a tiny little sigh, and she presses a hand against her cheek, head tilted slightly]
I'm afraid not, sir. Would you care to teach me?
no subject
[ There's some slight disappointment when she says she doesn't know, but a smile gets hitched onto his face after anyways. ]
Alright! So, like, a Keebler elf is this little creature dressed up in green and it wears a pointy hat and sneaks into the kitchens overnight when everybody is asleep and uses up all the eggs and sugar and flour baking cookies! Thought you might've caught one in here before? They're super rare and I heard they're tasty.

[ alex leans over to peer at some of the food - the delicate presentation and also just how flippin' much there is - before glancing over at the woman prepping everything. ]
Have you been making all this since you woke up...?
no subject
[with a secretive smile, Sharon shakes her head]
Oh, no. Not precisely.
I did give myself some time to investigate my surroundings first.
no subject
That's still impressive. I've only just finished looking around.

[Maybe other people will be polite and offer to help, or question why she did so much work, but this kid is just hungry and doesn't know how to make anything.]
I can have some of this?
no subject
Of course you can, so long as you don't take too much. Sharing is only polite.
[there are 43 people here (she hasn't counted) and she only made SO MUCH FOOD]
no subject
[Well, he's a polite enough kid, just a fairly useless one, so he'll make a plate and sit down, taking a bite.]
It's really good!

yona looks absolutely delighted while she's eating, which probably means it tastes good! but she's too polite to talk with her mouth full. give her a moment.]
