WEEK SEVEN: MINGLE

WEEK SEVEN: MINGLE (21 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. As usual, the participants will find that their lodgings have changed, and should anyone check their PHS, Chiron, Ochako, Soo-won, and Dorothy's profiles have been removed. They may also find that they have difficulty recalling complete details of the past weeks. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. Not everything is the same as the previous pattern, though. The barrier to the north is back up, and once more, what lies beyond is an empty field. In contrast, however, participants may notice that they can finally access a place they haven't been able to before... Additionally, it looks like the Leaders aren't around. No matter where the participants look, they're nowhere to be found. Should anyone try calling for them in the Planetarium, there will be no response—not even a message telling the participant that they're busy. Finally, everything around the participants begins to... glitch? Buildings may suddenly blink out of existence and then back in, random items like chairs or cups may suddenly distort even while they're being used, and looking at any particular thing for too long may give someone a headache. It's worse than it was that one week, though: participants will find that it's happening to themselves as well. Body parts might suddenly glitch out of existence then back in, and there will be a shot of pain when it occurs. It'll happen randomly, but it also seems to occur more often if they're touching something or another person.

[ it doesn't seem like this girl is from any of their own memories... and it's certainly not garreg mach. so she doesn't know what they're doing here, though hopefully it involves less swords this time.

hilda gives haruhi a curious look as they each introduce themselves, though ultimately she smiles back. ]

I'm Hilda, and this is Jeanne. It's a pleasure to meet you!

[ ANGE NO ONE ELSE GAVE A FAKE NAME she is so fucking valid.

But Haruhi gives them another look. ]

Are you here for the festival they're holding in the city tomorrow? I'm trying to get an act in it, but it's been a pain... [ She does not look upset about this. This is the face of someone who does not know what no means. ] Who are you looking for? Another member of your runaway group?

Oh? What sort of act are you hoping to submit? If they're having a festival, shouldn't they be looking for lots of different talents?

[ woo, here they go. ]

Hm... yeah, we are actually.

[ange is the opposite of valid but thank you.

Anyway... she's tired and she just wants to get out of here, honestly, but.. they have to continue to play along, don't they?

anyway Alex and Hilda have the chatter covered so Ange just keeps observing the school around them casually and, idk, bleeds or something.]

[ ange is the MOST valid, thank you. hilda nods. is this a lead? ]

Mm. We had a really big troupe, but some of our members got... lost, recently.

[ she hopes everyone else is having better luck than they are. in reality, hansa is wrestling vampires in the distance. ]

One of the members of my club would look so moe on stage! I think she'd attract a lot of attention, once I go tell her about it...

[ Anyway. Hm... they will enter the building now. No one pays them any mind, mostly because they are with Haruhi so they figure this might as well happen. She takes them to a room where she pulls out some clothes for them. Please ignore how small the image is, I'm at work and searching for this was the most terrifying thing I've ever done. You guys were originally going to get the actual track suits until you said they should get the most embarrassing outfits. ]

Here. Put this on. Who's your member?

[chanteuser]

[ sighs in our own hubris ]

[ ... at least this is a little? more covering than the bunny girl outfit? maybe? (is it? is it really, alex? i don't think so). still, whatever, she'll get changed to blend in. ]

Well... we don't know. It could be one of a number of them, we'd need to look around to see who it is though. Like Hilda said.

[Ange does not like this outfit but.

She puts it on anyway.

Perhaps we could help each other find our missing members.

[ thank you francy for going to such lengths for horrible outfits. hilda sees no problem with this one. it's cute? she has great legs. she'll help ange with hers if she needs it, but she did vault onto a train roof one-handed, so. ]

Yeah, maybe we'll find some of the people we're looking for!

[ what even is moe. ]

But Haruhi will point out the door. ]

It'll be faster if we split up. If whoever you're looking for looks as weird as you guys do, I'll find them. If you need anything, go to the SOS Brigade clubroom. People will point you there.

[ and then she leaves. Guess they will have to wander these halls without a guide for now. ]

still... alex waves a hand at haruhi's retreating back? ]

Maybe we need to figure out who we're likely to be looking for here. Rather than looking out for six different people and hoping, we could narrow it down a bit?

[ ... ]

Or we could just go straight to that clubroom, as it's the only place we have a name for? [ and SOMEONE might be there... ]

[... well. That seems as legit as anything else. But first, strategy meeting!]

Does anyone recognize this place at all? If not, it may be a leader's memory we are in now.

[and, uh, not her leader.]

I agree with inspecting that clubroom. There may be clues there, if not the one we're looking for.

I've never seen this place before, but...

[ a leader's memory? hang on. the gears are turning. ]

Oh! Bunny had something like—SOS in her room? [ good thing she knows which one is rabbit's room even though i, nu, forgot until just this second. ] Shoot, is that girl still here? I think there was a photo of her too!

[ she's going to run out into the hallway. they're probably looking for the same member after all? what are the chances. ]

If it's Rabbit's... then that's who we should be looking for. It doesn't help that none of the Leaders remember their names.

At least we can describe what she looks like to anyone we come across. Half of us can go to the clubroom; the other half of us can search the other way if Haruhi isn't gone already. Let's go.

[ Out Jeanne goes! She's going to look for random students now.

Time to find a Rabbit or a clubroom. ]

[ Hilda does not catch Haruhi, because she is on a mission and is unstoppable.

Jeanne going off and she will... actually spot the same young man who was at the stage? He's walking, sees them, but doesn't seem to recognize them like how Haruhi didn't. ]

[chanteuser]

[ alex has the moment of realisation at the same time hilda does because nu and i are juggling the memloss braincell. her eyes go a little wide, and she hurries after hilda when the other girl starts running.

when it becomes apparent they aren't going to catch haruhi though, she turns to a student wandering past and asks as nicely as she can: ]

Excuse me, which way is the SOS Brigade clubroom? I'm looking for someone and they might be there.

[ WABBIT... ]

[Well.

Ange shrugs inwardly and goes with Alex. She was pretty mighty with that pipe but she doesn't have it anymore, so if something goes pear-shaped, there should probably be someone with some combat experience with her since we're splitting the party.

So, random student, what's the verdict!!]

[axecessory]

[ haruhi no!! hilda curses inwardly at remembering a moment too late, but at least it looks like they're not totally without leads. she goes along with jeanne to split the party evenly, waving at the familiar face. ]

Um, hey! Excuse me—can you help us?

[discernments]

[ Maybe it's better he doesn't recognize them, Jeanne thinks. ]

We're looking for someone. She has auburn hair around this length. [ She raises a hand to Mikuru's hair length. ] And brown eyes. She's about this tall.

[ Again, Jeanne lifts a hand to an estimate of her height. ]

[retellers]

[ The student that Alex and Ange stop give them a bewildered look. ]

You want to go there on purpose? Uh. That way.

[ He points them in the right direction.

Meanwhile, the guy that Hilda and Jeanne stop, tilt his head. ]

Is that so...? The description sounds familiar.

[lecarre]

[... It kind of feels like how it is when people ask after their "club" back at school, except worse...

Anyway, Ange nods and she and Alex head in that direction!! Do they find the clubroom?]

[discernments]

[ nu said she wanted to go last this round, so!!

Jeanne nods. ]

Yes, do you know someone who looks like that? If so, have you seen her lately?

[ PLEASE SAY YES, GUY WHO IS PROBABLY ITSUKI. ]

[axecessory]

[ BRING US OUR BUNNY. she smiles at this guy who is definitely not itsuki. ]

We've been looking for her for a while... it'd be a big help if you could point us her way!

[retellers]

[ They can find the clubroom. If they walk in, there is a girl with glasses sitting in the corner reading a book. She does not look up or acknowledge them at all.

Meanwhile, the guy who may or may not be Itsuki, taps his chin. ]

That sounds like [ STUDENTS IN THE LIGHT MUSIC CLUB PLAY TUBA REALLY LOUDLY ] maybe? I haven't seen her yet today.
