WEEK ZERO: MINGLE (43 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. Speaking of new, if participants turn on their PHS, they'll notice another section available. There's also an alert for a new message, titled TEAM ASSIGNMENT. Opening it will reveal which Leader they have been assigned to. Furthermore, at the corner of the PHS screen is an icon of an animal, depending on who their Leader is. It is visible only to them and no one else. That's not the only change, though. Participants may not notice at first—or perhaps they will?—but sooner or later, they may realize that they're... missing something? Strange. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Which is to say, the Planetarium is now open! Finally, for the rest of the week, the participants will inexplicably have the urge to be physically affectionate. That person you just met days ago? Time to cuddle! This complete stranger you ran into? It sure is tempting to hold their hand. This urge can range anywhere from minor to impossible to ignore, depending on the situation. Enjoy your bonding!

[ early on monday morning, if you're passing by the kitchen there's the smell of something sweet coming from inside. alex is inside, humming absently to herself, with a big bowl of ... something next to her.

if you get close enough to look inside, it's very obviously batter. and if you're this close, you'll be able to see she's found a waffle maker and is already working her way up to making A Lot Of Waffles. ]

Oh. Hello.

[ she looks... maybe a little sleepy. but other than that, she seems pretty content. ] You can grab a waffle, if you want. I still need to cut up some fruit and toppings for them, but if you're happy with plain then be my guest.

ii. planetarium

[ with the planetarium now open, there's no reason not to go exploring it. which is exactly what alex does.

although she's gone at a time she hopes will be quieter, and hopefully she might find the place to herself for a bit. feel free to barge in on her, even if she's a little hard to find, tucked away in the corner in the dark.

... you might hear her before you see her, though. ]

[ wowowow free breakfast. Clementine does not really know how to cook, so this is even better than there just being food around! ]

Figuring out how to reduce the recipe was more hassle than just making a whole batch, it's fine.

[ she's diggin' out a cutting board and a knife as she talks. ]

[ ah, music. no response from lup - she's just quietly here, leaning against the wall. until about halfway through, and then she whistles along with the song. she does her best to be unobtrusive about it, but she's joining in. ]

[ -- it probably sounded lovely until alex realised someone was listening to her and she makes a sort of surprised, wheezing noise instead. ]

[ She's just going to grab one plain and rip a chunk off of it to munch on. ]

[ there she go, monching. ]

Waffles. It's, uh... basic batter. Like you'd use for pancakes? You cook them differently though.

[Well, he doesn't see her immediately at first, but he does hear her. He sort of just stands for a long moment or two, listening.

And then curiosity gets the better of him. He's surprisingly silent when he follows the voice closer. He stands out of the way, quiet, until she finished, but doesn't bother trying to hide himself.

She'd be able to see him when she turns or looks around.]

[ she does neither, focusing on finishing the song she's singing. when she's finished she just sorta sighs and turns her attention to looking up at the "stars" ]

no.

but, she hears it when she slips into the planetarium to explore, and stays quiet, because... it's pretty! she doesn't want to interrupt and startle whoever's singing.

so she's just going to stand there in the dark like a cryptid, listening to alex's music.]

but hey, for not interrupting her, yona will get to hear the whole song without interruption! congratulations. ]

[Oh, good morning, Alex. He looks pretty sleepy, too, but he perks up at the smell of waffles.]

There's plenty. Do you have any toppings you like?

The singing is soothing, and she follows that sound instead, though she'll wait quietly until Alex is done before she says or does anything.

Then she claps.]

Miss, that was wonderful!

[ at least the stars are pretty? but one thing that's definitely been established today is that singing in the newly opened building is a Bad Idea and she should've predicted being walked in on a fair bit.

so, the clap makes her jump slightly but she's almost resigned to the fact she's not as alone as she thought she was. ]

Oh, thank you. Sorry, I didn't realise there was someone there.

[ there are so many friendly cooks here usagi thinks that no matter how weird the situation, this is the best thing ever. her and her tummy really is in heaven ]

[ she says like she's not already honing in on the delicious stack and planning her attack ]

[ wow if she said "no" now it'd probably still be a lost cause... ]

I can't eat all of them. Wasting them would be worse.

[ YOU CAN'T MASS PRODUCE WAFFLES, ALEX. A certain somebody would kill Kano if he even thought about it- but it's that thought that makes his stomach twist and he shakes his head, keeping a smile on his face and bounding over to the counter to see what sort of toppings she's planning on dressing everything with. ]

Nah, nah, I'm not too hungry~ But I'll help you cut up the fruit if I get to have the scraps!

Sounds like a deal to me. Cutting up the fruit takes the longest.

[ zuko is nosing around, investigating -- but he pauses when he hears alex's singing. he doesn't want to interrupt or startle her, so he just.... walks slowly around, trying to be quiet. ]

[ congratulations on your stealth sifu hotman, alex keeps singing so she hasn't realised he's there yet! ]

[soo-won enters, and he hears her before he sees her. he actually doesn't interrupt her, and will wait for the whole song to be finished! he's not risking the song getting interrupted

though when she is done

he'll clap his hands! and then offer up:]

Jeanne waits until she's finished singing, however, happy to listen for however long Alex chooses to sing. ]
