WEEK SEVEN: MINGLE

WEEK SEVEN: MINGLE (21 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. As usual, the participants will find that their lodgings have changed, and should anyone check their PHS, Chiron, Ochako, Soo-won, and Dorothy's profiles have been removed. They may also find that they have difficulty recalling complete details of the past weeks. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. Not everything is the same as the previous pattern, though. The barrier to the north is back up, and once more, what lies beyond is an empty field. In contrast, however, participants may notice that they can finally access a place they haven't been able to before... Additionally, it looks like the Leaders aren't around. No matter where the participants look, they're nowhere to be found. Should anyone try calling for them in the Planetarium, there will be no response—not even a message telling the participant that they're busy. Finally, everything around the participants begins to... glitch? Buildings may suddenly blink out of existence and then back in, random items like chairs or cups may suddenly distort even while they're being used, and looking at any particular thing for too long may give someone a headache. It's worse than it was that one week, though: participants will find that it's happening to themselves as well. Body parts might suddenly glitch out of existence then back in, and there will be a shot of pain when it occurs. It'll happen randomly, but it also seems to occur more often if they're touching something or another person.

[ hm. don't like how izumo has to decide on where things are going to go. this is clearly a memory of one of the leaders and this person is certainly important to them—they have to be, right? she's not really the person here to stop rufus from doing anything but—let's just hope we don't have to do something we shouldn't. ]

well, while everyone else has the pleasantries handled, she's just... going to keep an eye on their surroundings. ]

Alphinaud glances around, just to see if there's anything else of note. ]

[ well, since she's not being attacked, the blonde jut pauses, leaning against the word in what is probably meant to be a casual manner ]

Uh, yeah. Of course it's mine. I always leave my swords... sticking out of the ground... in the Whispering Woods. It's a great place to store... swords. Yep. That's definitely it.

[ she is probably not very believable. Still, despite her general shiftiness, she doesn't seem to mean harm? Maybe?

Not that it matters much, since Alphinaud and Homura looking around will notice that there's definitely something more pressing in the background, which is a beautiful bug monster. That's neat. That's cool. ]

[ no, she's not believable at all. there are plenty of others who are going to be believable over her and izumo will look over towards rufus to see what his take on the whole thing is. though, there's some irony here to leave the two people who probably shouldn't be talking to...do the talking?

it's fine. izumo hasn't quite noticed the bug monster. ]

[ a bit on the nose with that. ]

Have you seen anyone else in the area?

[Homura and Alphinaud can take care of the monster. Rupe does turn his head in that direction, though.]

sorry if this is anyone's pet, but she's going for an eye with one of her hoarded arrows. by all means, continue your discussion. surely, it screeching in pain or anger whatever will be warning enough for the rest of them staring at the sword, or talking, or something. ]

[ Well, the arrow does hit, and when it happens there's a kind of-- echo, around Homura? Like suddenly there's another person there also shooting a bow and arrow, a dark skinned boy with a crop top, but it only lasts a second before the monster fails to die of convenient arrow like an asshole, just screeches, and the girl grabs the sword hastily. ]

[ the word she says is garbled, and it does not really matter anyway, because there's a flash of light that encompasses the entire scene and when they next blink, they're somewhere... completely different.

All of them will find themselves wearing their outfits from the ball of last week, in the middle of a very icy (literally? why is there so much ice here) ballroom. There's people everywhere, and the girl from before is still here, wearing a red dress and looking around worriedly. She's further away from them now, though, vanishing through the crowd.

There's music! Food! Dancing! Absolutely none monster. Also, someone is immediately coming up to all of them. ]

There are no weapons allowed at Princess Prom.

[ nope. this is officially an entirely different experience than she had before and now izumo is honestly at a loss. she can no longer be any use of a guide to them. we're all on this ride without a map or anyone at the wheel.

it's nice to know she's back to being dolled up, though? in a way. it was a very pretty dress but at the same time she has bonus injuries, tragic.

Rufus turns away to head for the crowd where the girl, who's so far what links these two locations, disappeared.]

Well. Someone else has other plans for them! Given that they're both the ones with weapons here, Alphinaud is going to assume she is putting on an act, and he follows suit. ]

Honestly, I have no idea how you got this far in without putting weapons away. Princess Prom is a peaceful, neutral event, and no weapons or conflict is allowed within these walls.

[ the attendant huffs, not at all explaining what princess prom is or why, bringing homura and alphinaud over to a check out area, though they seem to ... hesitate, when they get to Alphinaud's sword? ]

... Didn't we already have...?

[ they seem very troubled by this. Izumo and Rufus seemed unarmed, however, so they're free to do what they want! Rufus followed the blonde who, it turns out, seems to be following... this is a cat. She's following a cat that seems intent on throwing stuff down from tables and being a nuisance in general, putting fur all over pretty dresses and what not.

The cat leads both Rufus and the girl in circles back to Izumo, apparently very interested in a poor girl who can't walk without aid. It rubs itself on her legs and looks very smug for a cat. ]

[ while alphniaud and homura deal with the paradox that i have unknowingly created, izumo can watch the cat chase unfold in front of her. yeah, rufus is more than welcomed to follow the girl (and the cat) around because there's no way that izumo will be doing much hobbling after given her everything. that said when the cat comes closer to her and starts to circle her.

well.... izumo loves cats. she loves them very, very much. also this is rare for a cat to come to her instead of running to them?? sorry were they here for something? izumo suddenly can't remember and all she wants to do is see if she can't pet this cat while awkwardly bending over because of leg.

put a cute animal in front of her and her mind blanks. sorry? ]

[While Izumo entertains the cat's company, Rufus closes the gap between himself and the girl—finally.]

go along with the attendant I guess, looking for all the world like a clueless, ditzy, embarrassed mess who just forgot to put her bow away at the nice royal rendezvous, oopsie.

honestly yuuri has no intention of giving up her bow but being shown to where the already-checked-in sword would be nice if that's still relevant at all. hm. wonder if she can desummon and resummon it back like she's supposed to be able to, actually...

anyway is there anything in the check out area worth taking a second look at, or will these other princesses' memory belongings go unpilfered today? hopefully the rufus-izumo duo is getting useful things done. ]

[ Well, if nothing else, these two are a distraction to the attendant while Izumo and Rufus do their thing. ]

[ Alphinaud glances down at the sword, then beams a smile at the attendant. ]

Lovely, is it not? 'Tis a fine blade that's been passed down the family, and while I am not yet skilled with it, I do hope to one day make my father proud.

[ The bullshit duo is really at it... ]

[ The attendant looks ... so confused, looking back at the sword that's been left behind and then Alphinaud's identical one. They are forgetting to grab Homura's bow, though it would be difficult for her to go over the counter of the checkout to pilfer, unfortunately. Boo. ]

But... wasn't that She-Ra's...?

[ it's muttered to themselves more than anything, before they take a closer look at Alphinaud's sword. Meanwhile, in catlandia, the cat looks so amused at being pet and also immediately weaves itself closer to Izumo?

The girl squawks at Rufus's question ]

Uh, duh, of course it's important? It's the Horde? I have to know what kind of evil scheme she's up to. And weren't you keeping an eye on-- gah, never mind! Get back here, cat!

[ she looks like she wants to bowl over Izumo to get to the cat. the cat purrs in a fashion that sounds distinctly amused. hmm. ]

[ the blond girl is saying something about a horde and evil schemes but the only thing that izumo has on her mind is how cute this cat is??? there sure is some hostility towards the cat from the blond girl but the only izumo is going to do is see if the cat wants to jump into her arms? (arm?)

she has no real means of "protecting" the cat from anyone given her injuries but no one would be really mean to her given...her injuries. right??

[Clearly, she's thinking of someone else on his end. Rufus follows closely behind the girl, though he does glance around their surroundings as he does so. If she isn't alone, are there other people keeping an vigilant eye on them or another party?

He turns back to the girl and Izumo. Somewhere in this party hall, Rupe is doing an impeccable job of keeping out of sight.]

[ who knows what happened to the rest of the stuff she had on her before outfit change but they're small and easy to hide. maybe the flower is woven in with her crown of red lilies.

anyway, while izumo deals with cat, Rufus tries to... talk to girl, and alphi distracts the attendant, she'll just. stow her bow such that hopefully it doesn't look too conspicuous, and then step carefully away from the confused attendant to check out the rest of the ball.

you just have to look like you being there, right? act cool, confident, and just go wherever you feel like. it's like being the new transfer student again, x100.

anyway they're looking for someone so look for them she shall as she makes her way around hopefully, anything interesting happening or is it just couples and triads chattering by the punch bowl? ]
