WEEK SEVEN: MINGLE

WEEK SEVEN: MINGLE (21 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. As usual, the participants will find that their lodgings have changed, and should anyone check their PHS, Chiron, Ochako, Soo-won, and Dorothy's profiles have been removed. They may also find that they have difficulty recalling complete details of the past weeks. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. Not everything is the same as the previous pattern, though. The barrier to the north is back up, and once more, what lies beyond is an empty field. In contrast, however, participants may notice that they can finally access a place they haven't been able to before... Additionally, it looks like the Leaders aren't around. No matter where the participants look, they're nowhere to be found. Should anyone try calling for them in the Planetarium, there will be no response—not even a message telling the participant that they're busy. Finally, everything around the participants begins to... glitch? Buildings may suddenly blink out of existence and then back in, random items like chairs or cups may suddenly distort even while they're being used, and looking at any particular thing for too long may give someone a headache. It's worse than it was that one week, though: participants will find that it's happening to themselves as well. Body parts might suddenly glitch out of existence then back in, and there will be a shot of pain when it occurs. It'll happen randomly, but it also seems to occur more often if they're touching something or another person.

[Ange approves of the blatant lying, honestly. Here we are, all liars. She can't even be mad at Hilda's statement because like. Good one, Hilda.]

Yes, that's right. We are transfer students. We transferred in after running away from the circus.

Unfortunately, um, we ended up a little lost along the way. Do you mind helping us out a little bit? We... would truly, truly appreciate it!

[ hilda is pretty certain that at this point she could say she's from ye olden days from a most noble house of the alliance territory, second child of house goneril, and this girl would just take it in stride. they can just lie about whatever. they are now girls trying to find refuge from their hard circus life in this high school. ]

It's our first day and we're very excited to get started!

[ the biggest lie is actually that she's at all excited to attend class. ]

[ Jeanne looks askance at Ange for continuing to escalate these lies. It's not like Jeanne has never lied before, but they are all clowns for allowing this, and it's deserved. ]

I think there's someone we're supposed to find here, and if you could show us where there are spare school uniforms, too, that would appreciated.

[ She is definitely suspicious of them, but her curiosity wins over in the end. ]

Ange has no troubles keeping up despite the fact that she's bleeding a bunch.

Yeah what kind of school is this, anything interesting happening as they go?]

[ they are just casually bleeding and walking along, it's cool. she looks around as they nyoom, peeking in through some of the classroom windows.

she turns back to their guide, keeping in step. it goes without saying at this point that she is dragging Jeanne along as well. ]

Do you like this school—...oh, sorry, didn't catch your name.

[ They can see that it's called North High, and it's a normal Japanese high school even though none of them would know what that would look like.

She shrugs as she walks, not really slowing down for them. ]

It's fine. It's just a school. [ There's a pause. ] Suzumiya Haruhi. It's rude to ask for my name without stating your own.

[ north high, cool, cool, cool. ]

Oh-- that's true. Nice to meet you, I'm Alex Benedetto.

[ might as well be polite to the gal who's going to get her out of this bunny girl outfit. ]

[Ange has no idea that this is even a school, the only reason she has that is just because Haruhi has said so.

Um... my name is Angelica Lewis. It is a pleasure! [why does she even bother, this is a cyoa, none of this even matters. It's just immediate, really.]

[ it doesn't seem like this girl is from any of their own memories... and it's certainly not garreg mach. so she doesn't know what they're doing here, though hopefully it involves less swords this time.

hilda gives haruhi a curious look as they each introduce themselves, though ultimately she smiles back. ]

I'm Hilda, and this is Jeanne. It's a pleasure to meet you!

[ ANGE NO ONE ELSE GAVE A FAKE NAME she is so fucking valid.

But Haruhi gives them another look. ]

Are you here for the festival they're holding in the city tomorrow? I'm trying to get an act in it, but it's been a pain... [ She does not look upset about this. This is the face of someone who does not know what no means. ] Who are you looking for? Another member of your runaway group?

Oh? What sort of act are you hoping to submit? If they're having a festival, shouldn't they be looking for lots of different talents?

[ woo, here they go. ]

[ange is the opposite of valid but thank you.

Anyway... she's tired and she just wants to get out of here, honestly, but.. they have to continue to play along, don't they?

anyway Alex and Hilda have the chatter covered so Ange just keeps observing the school around them casually and, idk, bleeds or something.]

[ ange is the MOST valid, thank you. hilda nods. is this a lead? ]

Mm. We had a really big troupe, but some of our members got... lost, recently.

[ she hopes everyone else is having better luck than they are. in reality, hansa is wrestling vampires in the distance. ]

One of the members of my club would look so moe on stage! I think she'd attract a lot of attention, once I go tell her about it...

[ Anyway. Hm... they will enter the building now. No one pays them any mind, mostly because they are with Haruhi so they figure this might as well happen. She takes them to a room where she pulls out some clothes for them. Please ignore how small the image is, I'm at work and searching for this was the most terrifying thing I've ever done. You guys were originally going to get the actual track suits until you said they should get the most embarrassing outfits. ]

[ sighs in our own hubris ]

[ ... at least this is a little? more covering than the bunny girl outfit? maybe? (is it? is it really, alex? i don't think so). still, whatever, she'll get changed to blend in. ]

Well... we don't know. It could be one of a number of them, we'd need to look around to see who it is though. Like Hilda said.

[ thank you francy for going to such lengths for horrible outfits. hilda sees no problem with this one. it's cute? she has great legs. she'll help ange with hers if she needs it, but she did vault onto a train roof one-handed, so. ]

Yeah, maybe we'll find some of the people we're looking for!

It'll be faster if we split up. If whoever you're looking for looks as weird as you guys do, I'll find them. If you need anything, go to the SOS Brigade clubroom. People will point you there.

[ and then she leaves. Guess they will have to wander these halls without a guide for now. ]

Maybe we need to figure out who we're likely to be looking for here. Rather than looking out for six different people and hoping, we could narrow it down a bit?

Or we could just go straight to that clubroom, as it's the only place we have a name for? [ and SOMEONE might be there... ]

[... well. That seems as legit as anything else. But first, strategy meeting!]

Does anyone recognize this place at all? If not, it may be a leader's memory we are in now.

I agree with inspecting that clubroom. There may be clues there, if not the one we're looking for.

I've never seen this place before, but...

Oh! Bunny had something like—SOS in her room? [ good thing she knows which one is rabbit's room even though i, nu, forgot until just this second. ] Shoot, is that girl still here? I think there was a photo of her too!

[ she's going to run out into the hallway. they're probably looking for the same member after all? what are the chances. ]

If it's Rabbit's... then that's who we should be looking for. It doesn't help that none of the Leaders remember their names.

At least we can describe what she looks like to anyone we come across. Half of us can go to the clubroom; the other half of us can search the other way if Haruhi isn't gone already. Let's go.

[ Out Jeanne goes! She's going to look for random students now.

Time to find a Rabbit or a clubroom. ]
