WEEK SEVEN: MINGLE

WEEK SEVEN: MINGLE (21 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. As usual, the participants will find that their lodgings have changed, and should anyone check their PHS, Chiron, Ochako, Soo-won, and Dorothy's profiles have been removed. They may also find that they have difficulty recalling complete details of the past weeks. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. Not everything is the same as the previous pattern, though. The barrier to the north is back up, and once more, what lies beyond is an empty field. In contrast, however, participants may notice that they can finally access a place they haven't been able to before... Additionally, it looks like the Leaders aren't around. No matter where the participants look, they're nowhere to be found. Should anyone try calling for them in the Planetarium, there will be no response—not even a message telling the participant that they're busy. Finally, everything around the participants begins to... glitch? Buildings may suddenly blink out of existence and then back in, random items like chairs or cups may suddenly distort even while they're being used, and looking at any particular thing for too long may give someone a headache. It's worse than it was that one week, though: participants will find that it's happening to themselves as well. Body parts might suddenly glitch out of existence then back in, and there will be a shot of pain when it occurs. It'll happen randomly, but it also seems to occur more often if they're touching something or another person.

[UGH.

Ange also gets up immediately, looks at where they are, and also immediately gets off of those tracks, because that seems dangerous!!

[ WHY THIS. hilda dusts herself off as she steps off the tracks, looking peeved. ]

I doubt we'd get answers even if we did ask... what's with this place?

[ don't suppose byleth is standing around waiting for them again somewhere? does it look like time has passed again? ]

[ Jeanne's patience is not limitless. She is getting tired of this, but getting up and off the train tracks is a great idea. ]

That's twice now.

[ She, too, is looking around for people and things and anything weird or different. ]

It seems like our memories are at work somehow. I wonder....

[ It's just daytime instead of night now. There are people walking around who are giving the girls odd looks. Probably because they're a bunch of weirdos sleeping on train tracks? That's dangerous.

There's a large building in the distance, and some smaller ones that are just small businesses and houses. Wait no I don't think she saw the uniform never mind. It's a school shut up. ]

[chanteuser]

... I guess we're going again, huh? [ i hope this means they all have to dress in school outfits so i can put alex through a whole rota of embarrassing otufits. ]

Does it look like people are going into the bigger building?

[ does it? because she's gonna go there. ]

[lecarre]

[Ange is so tired, but this may as well happen, honestly.

Time to head on out. What kind of school are we talking here?]

If these areas are based off of our memories, keep an eye out for familiar people or places.

[ why do they have to keep walking places... how annoying. she follows the group along as they head to the school; they're all in ridiculous costumes and a little bloodied from the train, but it's no big deal. time to become students. ]

Is this another one of our memories though? Doesn't look familiar to me...

[ for all she knows this could be one of the other girl's memories though. ]

You're in the way.

[ A voice says from behind. It's... the same girl from the stage, when they woke up after the first time they fell asleep. She looks disgruntled and tries to move around them.

Pauses. Turns around. ]

... why are you dressed like that?

[chanteuser]

[ who is she though? a mystery. ]

It's a long story.

[lecarre]

[someday the girl squad will learn to stop giving Ange these openings, but today is not that day.]

We are a group of circus performers, passing by.

We ran away from home together.

[s....stop.]

[ WHY DO THEY KEEP LETTING ANGE DECIDE THEIR COVERS ]

Um... yep. That's us!

[ she doesn't even know how to help back that up, so she's just going to keep up with this girl as they walk. ]

Did you come and see one of our shows before? You look really familiar!

[retellers]

Runaways?

[ Hm... she looks both doubtful and intrigued at the same time. But. ]

Shows... you're performing runaways?

[chanteuser]

[ sigh. ange. ]

Yup.

I sing. We're all very talented.

[ probably.

anyway what's up with the school in the background? does it look normal? weird? what's occurring? ]

[lecarre]

[Ange just nods in satisfaction.

She's made this terrible thing happen and yet she does not look at all regretful.

Now she'll leave the actual socializing to Alex and Hilda and Jeanne who is absolutely here.]

Yes, Ange here is the most spectacular clown we have!

[ Hilda knows what a court jester is so I feel qualified to make this joke.

This circus troupe is heading to school now, though. Anything off as they get closer to the building? ]

[retellers]

[ It looks like a normal school! Nothing is off, except that everyone is wearing school uniforms and you guys are bunny girls and maids.

The girl keeps looking at them though. ]

Are you transfer students?

[chanteuser]

[ can they... can they get uniforms or are they just stuck like this.

also alex has a moment of indecision because she's definitely not a teen and is definitely a 24 year old woman, but--


you know what--? ]

Yup. Transfer students.

[lecarre]

[Ange approves of the blatant lying, honestly. Here we are, all liars. She can't even be mad at Hilda's statement because like. Good one, Hilda.]

Yes, that's right. We are transfer students. We transferred in after running away from the circus.

Unfortunately, um, we ended up a little lost along the way. Do you mind helping us out a little bit? We... would truly, truly appreciate it!

[axecessory]

[ hilda is pretty certain that at this point she could say she's from ye olden days from a most noble house of the alliance territory, second child of house goneril, and this girl would just take it in stride. they can just lie about whatever. they are now girls trying to find refuge from their hard circus life in this high school. ]

It's our first day and we're very excited to get started!

[ the biggest lie is actually that she's at all excited to attend class. ]

[ Jeanne looks askance at Ange for continuing to escalate these lies. It's not like Jeanne has never lied before, but they are all clowns for allowing this, and it's deserved. ]

I think there's someone we're supposed to find here, and if you could show us where there are spare school uniforms, too, that would appreciated.

[ So they can blend in, maybe. ]

[retellers]

[ She is definitely suspicious of them, but her curiosity wins over in the end. ]

I can probably find you some gym uniforms. Come here.

[ She is just going to immediately nyoom so

while she's nyooming, she's taking the chance to try and see if she can see the name of the school they're at. can see?

Ange has no troubles keeping up despite the fact that she's bleeding a bunch.

Yeah what kind of school is this, anything interesting happening as they go?]

[ they are just casually bleeding and walking along, it's cool. she looks around as they nyoom, peeking in through some of the classroom windows.

she turns back to their guide, keeping in step. it goes without saying at this point that she is dragging Jeanne along as well. ]

Do you like this school—...oh, sorry, didn't catch your name.

[retellers]

[ They can see that it's called North High, and it's a normal Japanese high school even though none of them would know what that would look like.

She shrugs as she walks, not really slowing down for them. ]

It's fine. It's just a school. [ There's a pause. ] Suzumiya Haruhi. It's rude to ask for my name without stating your own.
