WEEK SEVEN: MINGLE

WEEK SEVEN: MINGLE (21 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. As usual, the participants will find that their lodgings have changed, and should anyone check their PHS, Chiron, Ochako, Soo-won, and Dorothy's profiles have been removed. They may also find that they have difficulty recalling complete details of the past weeks. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. Not everything is the same as the previous pattern, though. The barrier to the north is back up, and once more, what lies beyond is an empty field. In contrast, however, participants may notice that they can finally access a place they haven't been able to before... Additionally, it looks like the Leaders aren't around. No matter where the participants look, they're nowhere to be found. Should anyone try calling for them in the Planetarium, there will be no response—not even a message telling the participant that they're busy. Finally, everything around the participants begins to... glitch? Buildings may suddenly blink out of existence and then back in, random items like chairs or cups may suddenly distort even while they're being used, and looking at any particular thing for too long may give someone a headache. It's worse than it was that one week, though: participants will find that it's happening to themselves as well. Body parts might suddenly glitch out of existence then back in, and there will be a shot of pain when it occurs. It'll happen randomly, but it also seems to occur more often if they're touching something or another person.

[ ohhhh my god, that's a lot to process at this moment in time. first thing's first, she's shoving the pipe at jeanne because lawd knows the girl is doin' incredibly with that cymbal but maybe she can do a little more with that pipe than alex is.

secondly, she's not going after the person climbing out the window because she would just fall straight off the train and that would be messy for everyone involved.

thirdly, she's going to use atalanta's single minded focus to her advantage and try and keep going? if there's another train they need to find the front and the brakes, right? ]

Ange takes stock of the whole situation, also gets the hell out of dodge re: the weird angry catgirl, and moves towards the window.

Because if someone is trying to escape she wants to know why.

As she goes:]

You'll want the red lever! Do not stop the train too suddenly!

[You'll yeet her right off of the roof...

Anyway she's vaulting herself out the window and climbing onto the roof. With one broken arm. Don't @ me, she's a spy and she's been faking incompetence for 7 weeks, give me this.]

[ jeanne was not kidding about atalanta, damn. hilda watches her lunge immediately, grimacing. they all split up into their appropriate roles as ange half-yeets herself out a window and alex makes a run for it.

the absolute chaos is keeping them busy. hilda sticks around for a second to see if jeanne needs help. otherwise, she's going to have to throw herself out a window too, i guess ]

[ Jeanne can take care of it!!! (If Francy, who knows nothing about Fate/, decides that Atalanta is at full Servant power, maybe Jeanne can trip before the finish line and I can be free.)

She takes the pipe gratefully from Alex but not before she yeets the cymbal with all her strength at Atalanta and follows right behind it with the pipe.

She is not messing around. She is going to attack Atalanta with everything she has from the getgo because otherwise, she's not going to stand a chance. ]

[ I have seen random episodes of assorted Fate media, I know SOME things about Fate, just absolutely nothing about the one in question outside of uno youtube video.

Alex charges forward to find the front of the train. Luckily, they're pretty close, but she is going to have to weave between a few more samurai to get to it. According to the dice, she probably gets another cut since she is without pipe now.

Meanwhile, Ange (and possibly Hilda) will climb out of the window to the top of the train. Up here, they have a good view of the other train. It seems like the samurai are trying to attach themselves to it... wow. Ange can see another face she recognizes, but it's nota cute girl this time? It's... an assassin! Terrible. He sees them on the roof.

Jeanne throws a fucking pipe and cymbal at Atalanta. They hit her. She looks confused for a second, before then charging at her. ]

You...!

[ She sounds mad. It's fine. ]

[ well. ow. but hey, she made it.

she's just gonna try and get the door as Shut as she Can and look around. ]

Red lever, red lever...

[ ange had said red lever, and to keep the braking process slow. hopefully if anyone wants a strategic sudden brake, they'll shout, because she's gunning for the red lever and pulling it steadily and carefully rather than sharpy to ease the train to a stop. ]

[Oh, they're at this point in time. Rad.

That's not what Ange thinks, exactly, but it's the general gist of it.

Anyway, less exciting is the fact that Jubei is here instead of fighting Chise. That's bad news. And she doesn't have a gun!!!

Anyway Ange is immediately going to run across the roof of the train towards where the samurai are trying to fire their little weird grappling gun. If she can stop that from happening, and Alex can pull the break, maybe they can just have a happy ending all around!!]

[ again, this '''train''' is a rather modern instrument to her, so climbing on the top of a giant metal moving deathtrap (literally) takes her a second to get used to. this thing is fast? her hair whips around and she sighs.

this sucks. ]

Oh boy.

[ but soon enough she's running after ange to back her up in case they have more samurai to deal with. ]

[ All you need to know about Atalanta is she has been one of my murder considerations for a long time.

It's okay. It's cool. This is fine. Jeanne is going to try to dodge to pick up the cymbal and pipe again. She doesn't think she has enough ability to kill her right now, but maybe she can knock her out. And knock her out again until they finish what they have to do here.

She knows this Atalanta can't be reasoned with, so she's just not going to waste her breath on trying to talk her down. ]

[ Alex pulls the lever! The train jerks for a second, and then starts the slow train process of rolling to a stop as she eases it slowly.

Meanwhile, Jubei notices what she's doing and is going to try to cut her off. Chise is busy in the train, because she is not a main character of this mini cyoa so Hilda and Ange get to be the stars.

At the very least, Jeanne can notice that this Atalanta isn't really at her full power just going by her speed, which is probably a good thing since they'd probably all be dead otherwise. But she's going to try lunging against, aiming for Jeanne's throat. ]

[Cannot believe Ange and Hilda have to now deal with the assassin...

Ange jerks her head towards him, reaching under her skirt for her c-ball immediately.]

He's the assassin! He's dangerous!

[Probably not as dangerous as even nerfed Atalanta, though. Poor Jeanne.

Anyway Ange will try... bluff. Since she has no gun.]

Jubei! Lord Horikawa is not here! Leave!

[ of course they're dealing with an assassin... she answers ange with a quick nod. while she's trying to, uh, negotiate—hilda will see if there's a way she can reach that grappling cord.

at least the train seems to be slowing down, but that doesn't make it much less dangerous as they're standing on the roof of it. hopefully jeanne is doing okay. ]

[ A Servant trying to kill Jeanne is like a day ending in y.

Jeanne is going to try to avoid being strangled, but that would be no fun? So please let her get asphyxiated a little, as a treat.

And that is when she is going to try to beat Atalanta over the head with cymbal and pipe both, as she gasps for air.

It's not at full power since she's being choked, but you know. ]

But Jubei, instead of chatting, instead draws his sword and runs to slash at Ange. The good news is that he is occupied, and thus is not really paying attention to what Hilda is doing. That is good news specifically for Hilda and not Ange, who is being attacked by a highly trained assassin.

Back at it again with Jeanne, Atalanta lets go of her neck after being beaten by a cymbal and pipe once again. ]

I will avenge them--

[ wow she's mad ]

[Oh god okay this is not how she wanted to spend today!!

Ange immediately tries to backflip out of the way, but like.

He's a highly trained assassin and she's a spy without one eye and with a currently broken arm.

She undoubtedly gets a little slashed anyway. HILDA HELP.]

[ well, she's probably pretty close to unlatching this weird Thing attached to the train, but making sure ange doesn't die takes a bit of priority here. ange may have been playing them all as fools this whole time but, you know what? sometimes girls lie and that's within their rights. they're still friends.

so hilda will come up and bonk this expert assassin over the head with an electric guitar to get his attention. or she'll try, anyway. is that enough to take him out? probably not, but between the two of them, they should be able to manage something. ]

Hey! Back off!

[discernments]

[ It's fine.

Jeanne is going to keep smashing Atalanta over and over again with the cymbal and pipe until she's down and out.

Atalanta thinks she's evil anyway, so there is no mercy.

Jeanne doesn't want to die here, and she can't let Atalanta hurt anyone else. ]

[ I guess Hilda is smashing her guitar on this dude's head, which is definitely enough to stagger him as he comes to terms with the fact that he was? Just hit by a guitar??

Meanwhile, Jeanne is smashing someone with a pipe to the sound of constant cymbal smashing, like the evil monkey from Toy Story 3. Atalanta is not knocked out but she is dazed enough she's no longer flat out attacking.

The train rolls even more to a stop thanks to Alex who is still in this thread. ]

[Everyone thank Alex.

Anyway Hilda is an actual bro and Ange makes a mental note to thank her later. We'll come back to that to see if she ever manages a sincere thank you. Stay tuned.

She's not going to miss her chance, though. Chise already [spoilers spoilers spoilers] so she's not even going to feel bad about doing this, honestly--Hilda bashes him over the head with the guitar and Ange immediately does a flying kick to the chest to try to knock him right off the train.]

anyway, sometimes you just have to kill people before they kill you. so hilda will just make sure to catch ange so she doesn't also go flying off the train with him? ]

[ Alex is our savior and the real MVP!

Dazed but not out, huh? All right. Jeanne tries to knock Atalanta down by tackling her. ]

[ ANGE JUST KNOCKS JUBEI OFF THE TRAIN I GUESS. And Jeanne keeps beating Atalanta. I hate fight threads why did I do this.

Chise chooses this moment to reappear, wiping blood off her sword as she just... scoots by Jeanne and Atalanta. She'll poke her head out the window. ]

It's almost time.

[Hilda keeps Ange on the train and Ange gives her a grateful look. Phew.

Okay, anyway.

Ange just peers over the edge of the train at that.]

... For what?

[ there he goes! this was not a very good assassin after all. hilda helps set ange down then peers off the side of the train at chise as well. the assassin is defeated, jeanne is presumably winning, the train collision is averted...

hopefully that means it's time for victory? ]

Can you be a little more specific?

[ Jeanne is hopefully winning? She is trying to make Atalanta black out by holding the pipe against her neck.

Chise says something a little alarming, but Jeanne is doing her best to finish this fight. ]
