WEEK SEVEN: MINGLE

WEEK SEVEN: MINGLE (21 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. As usual, the participants will find that their lodgings have changed, and should anyone check their PHS, Chiron, Ochako, Soo-won, and Dorothy's profiles have been removed. They may also find that they have difficulty recalling complete details of the past weeks. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. Not everything is the same as the previous pattern, though. The barrier to the north is back up, and once more, what lies beyond is an empty field. In contrast, however, participants may notice that they can finally access a place they haven't been able to before... Additionally, it looks like the Leaders aren't around. No matter where the participants look, they're nowhere to be found. Should anyone try calling for them in the Planetarium, there will be no response—not even a message telling the participant that they're busy. Finally, everything around the participants begins to... glitch? Buildings may suddenly blink out of existence and then back in, random items like chairs or cups may suddenly distort even while they're being used, and looking at any particular thing for too long may give someone a headache. It's worse than it was that one week, though: participants will find that it's happening to themselves as well. Body parts might suddenly glitch out of existence then back in, and there will be a shot of pain when it occurs. It'll happen randomly, but it also seems to occur more often if they're touching something or another person.

[ alex does as she's told by jeanne and smashes one of the samurai in the balls with a pipe before hustlin' down the carriage after ange and presumably jeanne.

she's keeping in the middle, like she was told. good thing she knows how to run in heels.

can she make out anything significant from the commotion from where she is? any sounds that stand out? ]

[ hilda is in charge of bringing up the rear, aka hitting things with her guitar if they get too close. they're hustling along after chise, when alex ruins one samurai's day— ]

Wow, nice shot...

[ —but it doesn't look like they're out of trouble. ]

Ugh, why are there so many of these guys!? Ange, where are we going—?

[ she'll keep clobbering whoever she needs to, but they'd better get a move on. how many more cars are there on this thing? ]

[ Alex may be to hear what sounds like screaming? Still weird. Actually, it might sound like someone is yelling Jeanne's name in particular, but it's still far enough that it may just be you hearing things.

They're about two cars away from Chise. ROLLS ANOTHER DICE I unfortunately rolled a 17 for you guys so you get through this one without much incident. ]

the dice roll, not the screaming and someone shrieking for jeanne part. but she's gonna keep moving, in the middle of the pack. cracking samurai where it hurts as she goes.

what a lovely field trip. ]

[That's annoying, yeah, but Ange shakes off the cut immediately with a faint scowl.

Chise wtf slow down, she doesn't have a gun!!]

This is being pulled from my memories. There are two trains, and if one of them is not stopped, they will collide at high speeds. [aka Bad.]

There may also be an extremely dangerous assassin onboard. [JUST CASUALLY.

Anyway, she's ignoring the possible yelling for Jeanne in favor of trying to get away from the samurai and pursuing Chise.]

That sounds bad!?

[ REALLY BAD? like samurai aren't enough, suddenly they're on a death train and also there is a murderer on the death train. she makes a face and picks up the pace. is the screaming coming from the direction that chise is running? ]

[ The screaming, is, in fact, coming from that direction! Ange can at least tell it wasn't Chise's voice though, so there's that.

They enter the next train car, and.... (rolls a dice) they get into a little more trouble here. You may all choose any sort of minor injury you may want. ]

[ nice, slash alex in the upper left arm please and thank you. she's gonna try and keep moving if she still can because.

y'know.

there isn't a whole lot of material on this outfit to wrap around her new wound. might as well get this over with. ]

[Ange ends up with a slice across her cheek because why not, it's fun. New scars for Princess to be horrified at.

She ignores it as blood drips down her face in favor of continuing because, well, what else can they do really?]

[ yay, injuries! hilda manages to deflect a sword coming her way with the guitar, but it still bounces off and slices her shoulder, damaging her very cute(?) costume.

this is deeply irritating and she takes it out by hitting another samurai. ]

Jeanne can get a little cut on her lower left arm, as if she isn't cut up all over anyway.

Is there still screaming of her name, and if yes, does the voice sound familiar to her.....

Still moving forward after slamming another samurai in the head. ]

[ The voice does sound familiar to her, but like, in a bad way. Remember how she was surprised about someone only staring at her earlier in this thread!

Anyway, moving on. There they go to the next car, and Chise is here. She seems to be stuck fighting someone. She glances at them. ]

There is a woman who ran ahead of me. She seems dangerous.

More dangerous than all these guys with swords back here?

[ priorities?? priorities. ]

[Poor Alex, she deserves better than these ladies from ridiculously fight-y canons.

Anyway Chise can handle herself so Ange isn't too concerned.]

Stay wary, and keep moving.

She's being as cautious as like, a spy and her posse can be on a moving train that they may or may not have to stop in an emergency.]

[ hilda is TIRED of being fighty, they should be able to retire to a nice cart and enjoy the scenery as it passes. instead she has to hit samurai with her electric guitar and worry about her friends getting shanked, and/or herself getting shanked, and/or colliding with another train.

what a day. she misses the stage. she gives alex a sympathetic look before following after ange. ]

Don't feel bad about hiding, if you need to. But you've got a pretty mean swing with that pipe!

... I'm afraid if it's who I think it is, she is more dangerous than all those samurai combined unless she has also been stripped of her abilities.

Maybe Atalanta is also nerfed. That would help a lot. Jeanne prays Atalanta is nerfed. ]

At the very least, she should only target me, so you three should move on to stop the train, if it becomes necessary.

[ Time to bash more heads in via cymbal. Moving on???

[ It's fine, they all leave Chise to deal with the guys here as they move onto the next car.

There's a few things they can notice right away here. The first, is that there's a window open and they can see someone in the process of climbing out of it to get onto the roof. The second is that, through that window, they can also hear that there is, in fact, another train also approaching.

The third is that Atalanta is indeed here, and she is immediately charging for Jeanne. Sometimes, multiple memories get merged together to become a clusterfuck, and that's fine. ]

[ ohhhh my god, that's a lot to process at this moment in time. first thing's first, she's shoving the pipe at jeanne because lawd knows the girl is doin' incredibly with that cymbal but maybe she can do a little more with that pipe than alex is.

secondly, she's not going after the person climbing out the window because she would just fall straight off the train and that would be messy for everyone involved.

thirdly, she's going to use atalanta's single minded focus to her advantage and try and keep going? if there's another train they need to find the front and the brakes, right? ]

[YOU'RE DOING GREAT, ALEX.

Ange takes stock of the whole situation, also gets the hell out of dodge re: the weird angry catgirl, and moves towards the window.

Because if someone is trying to escape she wants to know why.

As she goes:]

You'll want the red lever! Do not stop the train too suddenly!

[You'll yeet her right off of the roof...

Anyway she's vaulting herself out the window and climbing onto the roof. With one broken arm. Don't @ me, she's a spy and she's been faking incompetence for 7 weeks, give me this.]

[ jeanne was not kidding about atalanta, damn. hilda watches her lunge immediately, grimacing. they all split up into their appropriate roles as ange half-yeets herself out a window and alex makes a run for it.

the absolute chaos is keeping them busy. hilda sticks around for a second to see if jeanne needs help. otherwise, she's going to have to throw herself out a window too, i guess ]

[ Jeanne can take care of it!!! (If Francy, who knows nothing about Fate/, decides that Atalanta is at full Servant power, maybe Jeanne can trip before the finish line and I can be free.)

She takes the pipe gratefully from Alex but not before she yeets the cymbal with all her strength at Atalanta and follows right behind it with the pipe.

She is not messing around. She is going to attack Atalanta with everything she has from the getgo because otherwise, she's not going to stand a chance. ]

[ I have seen random episodes of assorted Fate media, I know SOME things about Fate, just absolutely nothing about the one in question outside of uno youtube video.

Alex charges forward to find the front of the train. Luckily, they're pretty close, but she is going to have to weave between a few more samurai to get to it. According to the dice, she probably gets another cut since she is without pipe now.

Meanwhile, Ange (and possibly Hilda) will climb out of the window to the top of the train. Up here, they have a good view of the other train. It seems like the samurai are trying to attach themselves to it... wow. Ange can see another face she recognizes, but it's nota cute girl this time? It's... an assassin! Terrible. He sees them on the roof.

Jeanne throws a fucking pipe and cymbal at Atalanta. They hit her. She looks confused for a second, before then charging at her. ]

You...!

[ She sounds mad. It's fine. ]

[ well. ow. but hey, she made it.

she's just gonna try and get the door as Shut as she Can and look around. ]

Red lever, red lever...

[ ange had said red lever, and to keep the braking process slow. hopefully if anyone wants a strategic sudden brake, they'll shout, because she's gunning for the red lever and pulling it steadily and carefully rather than sharpy to ease the train to a stop. ]

[Oh, they're at this point in time. Rad.

That's not what Ange thinks, exactly, but it's the general gist of it.

Anyway, less exciting is the fact that Jubei is here instead of fighting Chise. That's bad news. And she doesn't have a gun!!!

Anyway Ange is immediately going to run across the roof of the train towards where the samurai are trying to fire their little weird grappling gun. If she can stop that from happening, and Alex can pull the break, maybe they can just have a happy ending all around!!]

[ again, this '''train''' is a rather modern instrument to her, so climbing on the top of a giant metal moving deathtrap (literally) takes her a second to get used to. this thing is fast? her hair whips around and she sighs.

this sucks. ]

Oh boy.

[ but soon enough she's running after ange to back her up in case they have more samurai to deal with. ]
