WEEK ZERO: MINGLE (43 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. Speaking of new, if participants turn on their PHS, they'll notice another section available. There's also an alert for a new message, titled TEAM ASSIGNMENT. Opening it will reveal which Leader they have been assigned to. Furthermore, at the corner of the PHS screen is an icon of an animal, depending on who their Leader is. It is visible only to them and no one else. That's not the only change, though. Participants may not notice at first—or perhaps they will?—but sooner or later, they may realize that they're... missing something? Strange. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Which is to say, the Planetarium is now open! Finally, for the rest of the week, the participants will inexplicably have the urge to be physically affectionate. That person you just met days ago? Time to cuddle! This complete stranger you ran into? It sure is tempting to hold their hand. This urge can range anywhere from minor to impossible to ignore, depending on the situation. Enjoy your bonding!

F E A S T (wednesday evening)

(First things first! There's a lovely flyer down in the hotel lobby. Actually, there are two. The first one promises a fun feast for all and the second is promoting a very serious event. Both which will take place in the same place on the same evening! Wow.

A little later on Wednesday evening, there's a lot of activity at the Plaza Inn! Everything is probably running a little behind because of the tasks they were given today but they're trying their best okay. It's nothing particularly fancy-- all they do is move some furniture around to clear the floor push the tables together so all of the food can be spread out in one place. It feels a little more like a potluck than a formal feast but it's free food so who can really complain!! Things like sandwiches, salad, one pan dishes, and so on are laid out with a bunch of snacks-- chips, cookies, and so on. There are drinks, most notably there is alcohol.

Also there's music playing but don't ask me what kind of music and with so much space opened up for the night and this week's cuddly effects in play, it might be a great time to hold hands and get cozy with a dance partner.

Overall, everything is casual! Except for when Claude insists there be a toast because no party can actually get started without a toast, right? )

Hey, thanks for coming. (Okay, maybe it actually isn't that formal,) It's good to get everyone, or well, most of us together formally. I know we probably "know" each other from the profiles but nothing beats learning about each other from the source.

None of this would have been possible if it wasn't for the combined efforts of others. It wasn't easy with just one kitchen and well, all of the missing knives. Seriously, maybe put those back after you use them. People might get the wrong idea! Anyway, all of this tonight just goes to show what you can accomplish if we just talk to and work together, you know? So let's keep it up.

she's definitely been bustling around and chatting to people excitedly in between casually picking off more and more of the desserts as the party goes by, but it doesn't look like she's bothered to dance yet. So she's fairly surprised when Claude walks up, a cookie still half in her mouth.

Thank god she like. Takes it out and puts it back on her plate before answering. She has SOME manners.]

[ predictably, clem is a little uncomfy in a big group setting. she does okay with smaller groups, or one on one, but this is a lot? so she's being a boring person and standing against a wall and observing people. just. you know. making sure it's safe.

but she won't turn down conversation if you approach. and even though she looks on edge, she still looks pretty pleased with all of this. ]

This... Definitely beats the last party I went to.

[Remember the other day when Raven was trying to get way too up close and personal with everyone? Surely alcohol will only create a bigger, even worse situation.

And yet! Raven is just quietly sitting in a corner of the table, spending more time getting progressively wine drunk than he is anything else, watching everyone else. Weird!]

[Someone seemed to have taken the second flyer a bit seriously, because here is Hansa in a very different outfit. Looks like this was the second outfit he had besides his usual black one! Huh.]

[His hair is tied back in a ponytail like before in the scavenger hunt, and for some reason, his usual cheerfully talkative demeanor is more subdued. In fact, he seems mildly disgruntled, rubbing at his forehead with a sigh at times as he goes around the feast.]

[Try to approach him, though, and he'll turn towards you, raising his glass of champagne with a light smile.]

[After drinking some champagne, one can find him sitting at the edge of the dance floor, just doing some people-watching. Maybe you want to ask the holy man to join in for a dance or get some grub?]

[ so, by some miracle or force of nature, izumo will be here and will still having none of it. if anyone saw her on the first day they all got here, she'll be wearing something entirely different as she leans against the wall. (her hair held back in a bun instead of twintails!) sure, she could get some food but she's eyeing the alcohol. some people might not care one way or another if minors drink, the minors included, but she's making an effort to stay away from the stuff.

...and trying to find a way to escape. well, she will escape the second she gets the chance or the moment where it seems like the crowd might thin. ]

[ for the majority of the night, alex is quite happy to just sit at the sidelines of the f e a s t. she's got a thin glass of something that looks nice and bubbly, and is quite content to watch people mill past and enjoy themselves.

eventually she'll go and check out the food, setting down her glass long enough to select a plate of some smaller snacks - sandwiches, some salad, that sort of thing - before she moves outside to sit on the steps and just enjoy the ambience of people milling around and chatting.

and probably the fireworks, if those are still exploding away too. ]

[MmmmMMMMM who is hosting this party? Dionysus? Chiron is looking at the abundance of alcohol in vague disapproval, knowing what he'll probably be doing later tonight when half of this lot is drunk and cuddly.

But for the meantime he keeps to a corner of the room, preferring to sit instead of stand the entire time. The centaur nibbles on mostly veggies because /looks tiredly at his anatomy, not to today Satan, but he will nod and greet anyone who comes close to him with a smile]

Just watching, I'm afraid.

[later on in the evening, you might find elsa secreted away outside of the lobby proper—but not far from the venue itself. she is leaning against a wall again, but very pointedly drinking a cup of water—and her cheeks are a bright, apple red. at the sound of your approach, she turns, and looks a little shy at being caught apart from everyone.]

[ while the festivities are rolling, xie lian disappears away from the main feast to go sit outside. it's a lovely night, and the moon is huge and bright overhead... based on the timing of where he was back home, and the size of it in the sky, well, maybe it's close enough, isn't it? it feels like xie lian should be doing a little something.

so! he's sitting crosslegged on the ground, holding a bunch of tissue paper from the gift shop in his hands and a pair of scissors, and trying to make... a simple lantern! he is terrible at it, so it's awfully lumpy, but he's doing his best. this probably will not fly, considering he doesn't even have a match.

oh well. it's the thought that counts, right? he's sure the heavenly emperor would appreciate it... he's trying to decide if he wants to light it somehow or not, at the moment, still sitting here surrounded by crafts. ]

[yona's second outfit is definitely fancier than her first, so it's more suitable for a feast. so here she is in that... although when she occasionally glances down and sees the floral pattern on her outer robe, she can't quite stop from frowning softly. it's probably fine, though.

anyway, food and music and people is probably a good time, so here she is. it'll be easy enough to catch her mingling - if she spots someone with a particularly tasty dish, she'll pipe up with a Hey, where did you get that? - or if she sees someone with an empty plate, she'll grab a few treats and tell them to try it.

you can also catch her looking like she wants to dance (but not asking anyone about it just yet)... or, much later in the evening, covering her mouth with one hand to hide a yawn.]

Big Metal Wallflower

[It's been...a long time since Al's been to a party, and never once in these kind of circumstances or with such mixed company. And not by himself, either. He came inside when he noticed everyone gathering, but now he's firmly glued to a wall like a decorative statue, watching the mingling and dancing and trying to appear as small as possible. A nerdy teenager in a giant body at the prom.
